F you drive test!!!!!

i ****ing hate drive test. HATE THEM! I was 2 minutes late for my g1 exit, had to pay the fee again in full, i left an hour and a half before the test had about 10 min to spare, and because some one was arguing about why they should be able to do a road test with a expired license, my time expired. Ok what ever i bit the bullet on that one. I was not there half an hour early, but 2 minutes? REALLY drive test? Really? Book another day for g1 exit. Go back Yesterday to do my M2 Exit. "Oh your not on the schedule" "Really? here are my papers saying i'm here fro an 845 m2 exit test"
"But the 845 has already arrived! You will have to wait for my supervisor to come in."
So I sit, and wait, and wait, and wait, and wait a little more. Its been an hour and 15 minutes, i've sent a ****** off email to the customer comments email address. "Look i have to go to work, what are my options" Supervisor walks in. blah blah blah blah I’m sorry. Ok great its not really his fault at all. "lets see what happened"............."Oh! you canceled your test!"
"No I didn't" "well it says here you did" "Ok well sure, but that doesn’t change the fact that I didn't"
"it says you no showed for a g1 exit?"
"Yeah i was late by 2 minutes"
"Well it looks like your M2 exit was canned when you were signed up for your next g1 exit" Blah blah blah.

Buddy was sympathetic, which helped, but i was still seething. Tells the desk clerk to book me in. "The next available day is the 30th" I'm like the ****? The whole point of doing this now is if i fail i have time to re do it"

Supervisor says ok pick a day, i say thursday, he says he will keep the instructor back for an extra test (they only do 8 a day at downsview apparently) So what ever I'm still ******, but atl east i can do it this week, at the cost of having to book more time off work)

I go to work, finish my day, as I'm leaving i get a call from Drive test. The lady is apologizing profusely. I'm so sorry, there was a communications error, I told the clerk to have the 845 go at 830, then you were to do yours at 915. This pisses me off, but tis not really her fault i guess, so i keep it civil. That and its a business line so i'm not going to go off on them. She promises me the customer service will be top notch when i do my test on thursday, and hopes i pass. I hang up, ride home.

**** you drive test!!!!

End rant

How old are you?

No not laughing.

I'm 32 and I still have a m2. And got no car.

LOL, I thought i was the only one..... I only have a G1 because they made me pay for it when i got my M2. Only going for the m because if not i'll have to redo my m1 exit......

The whole system is flawed.

lol I know pointing out the obvious, but what can we sheeple do?

go out of province to get your license then come back and swap it for an ontario one

Really?

You can get a g1/g2/g license in ontario with your eyes closed

When I first got my license in South America, I got up at 430 in the morning to get in a line, the office opened at 730 am, I didn't get out of there until 4pm, then I had to go take a test a few days later which I paid for under the table so i didnt have to wait 3 months for. By the time I was done from beginning to start I lost probably 20 hrs of my day.

Just putting it into perspective that our problems are white rich people problems ;)

downsview

It's been a while since I exited a DriveTest for the last time, so I had to think about this... but presuming it's still the same, the Downsview location is a perpetually self-colliding train. It might be too late for you, but for others: just go somewhere else.

Go for it and watch what happens. You have to possess said license for a minimum of 2 years or onterrible will make you start over. So yes get a G or its equivalent somewhere else it's not hard but don't expect onterrible to accept it.

Yeah, but you had a full license in few days ... and you didn't need expensive insurance ... I would take South America ... LOL

It's kind of off topic, but related I think: I had to upgrade my M1 to M2 (already had the sealed envelope). I also had to renew my plate stickers for car & bike.

I had to go to two separate offices, in different town, to do each of these.

I'm not complaining - just sympathizing with OP about how flawed things really are.

Not to mention that if this was anywhere in the GTA you likely had to wait at least an hour at each stop. I emailed my MPP and the person in charge of Service Ontario a few months back and suggested they should drop the word 'Service' from their title because they provide very little of that.

couldn't you just bribe someone?
or hire a local to stand in line for you?

They suck large. So many crap stories from my dad and my own experience with them. Plus I'm sure every one here wonders how all the crap drivers in Toronto passed and are on our roads.
