Eye surgery

The difference is life time warnanty. Meaning if years down the road you need surgery again you get it for free. Seening that we loose our eye sight as we age any ways... seems like a pretty sweet deal.

Your eyes will age, and no amount of lasers will fix that. And even then...are you willing to get this done annually just to be free of reading glasses? I'm not. Those glasses are $10 at Shoppers....

I’m thinking to do a LASIK and need to choose between Bochner and YELC. My friend who is an eye doctor recommend YELC, but I read really bad reviews about them on the rate md website. Does anyone had problem with the attitude at YELC?

I went to YELC, please read my review:

Also, try to find a review of the actual surgeons/ophthalmologists from YELC, most of them work for Toronto Western Hospital, which is the best hospital in Ontario for ophthalmology (from what I hear). =) Good luck.

Wish I could get laser surgery done. I have keratoconus on both eyes. Need to wear hard contact lens and vision is still not perfect. Probably gonna have to do corneal transplant down the road.
I have keratoconus as well. I've had to wear hard contact lenses up until I had a corneal transplant on my left eye. I now use a soft disposable hybrid lense to correct my vision on the right.

I recently had Corneal Collagen Cross Linking with Riboflavin done on my right eye (Bochner institute - awesome). Intacs are in the lineup for the next option and then a fit for a lens. Convention eye surgery is not an option for me.

Intacs are an option for people who do not want laser surgery as it is a lot less intrusive and the intacs can be removed.

If anyone else has KC and wants to chat about it, message me anytime.

Good luck with whatever you choose OP. it is great that you have so many options.

went to a toronto lasik md and they said $4500, went to hamilton for lasik md and they said $2700, for the same job with same technology.

asked them why the price difference, said in toronto its all marketing and can charge what they like.

Kinda like going to a Vet...This medical practice is not regulated or governed, so any company can charge whatever they want for the service. *shrug*...rip off but what are ya gonna do right?
