Well you may call it a soapbox but social media has been such a powerful tool for ordinary people to counter the government owned media that even the British FM admitted to its power last year.
He directly said that due to social media activities, it has become much harder to collect funds for Israeli due to the change in UK's public opinion.

And i validate my belief with fact, UN resolutions, Geneva convention treaties and a mountain of evidence from all parts of the world on Israel's state of apartheid.

I dont believe in a belief based on confirmation of masses. If i did, i'd be a religious nut. I find facts and try to spread the word.

ashkan, I'm gonna say to you what I say to some friends of mine.

If you feel the need to validate your beliefs by getting on a soapbox and screaming them to the world, pick up a rifle and fight. Otherwise enjoy your freedoms in Canada and keep your beliefs private.

Yea just like our zionist leader Harper keeps his support and our money out of that conflict?

Pick up a rifle or stay quiet? What are you 16 looking at the world like it's COD?

I have to laugh at the tinfoil brigade's insistence that if you don't buy in to the fringe media's take on things (who have their own polar opposite agenda) you're a brainwashed simpleton. Fire up the (black) kettle.

How did the fringe media's grassroots media barrage/campaign against Kony pan out 2 years ago? Right. Cause de jour hipsters banging away at their keyboards furiously are going to solve centuries of tribal conflicts.

It looks like the tactics the Palestinian are using, according to the cut & paste by Orycock, are not that dissimilar to the ones used by the Vietnamese to win that supposed unwinable war.

And it was public outrage, based on media coverage, that played a big part in bringing the event to a end.

But hey, like I've alluded to before - I don't pretend to know everything that's going on, not like some of the Middle East professors supplying their two cents. I'm a complete idiot.

I find that sickening, your hate for Israel is stronger than your love for your son.

I don't have a son, nor do I hate Israel. But I can put myself in the shoes of the Palestinians.

I don't care how sensationalist or dramatic you choose to be about this, but the land grab is real and illegal. Eventually you have to stand up to your aggressors, no matter how big or powerful they are. If Hamas could fight Israel with jets and tanks I have no doubt whatsoever that they would take the opportunity.

And the Smoking Gun sites are already coming up with theories on how the Air Algérie crash was some sort of Zionist plot/Mossad operation.

Some of us were watching the news during the Cold War Crisis/Vietnam War era, and realized then that the mainstream media didn't always tell the truth about what was happening back then, be that due to being fed disinformation or what have you, and plainly see that nothing's changed since. The laughable thing is being told what we already knew by some spot who's daddy hadn't yet screwed up the courage to ask his momma out on a date yet (way back when we had already formed said opinions re: the media) that we're all blind sheep. More like wise enough to know that neither side is telling the truth.

THIS. People believe alternative media blindly.

It's all part of the greater plot REPTILIANS have. Want proof they exist? Look at one of their soldiers slipping out of shapeshift

How would Canada feel if another country/organization were to publicly state that its goal is for your country's utter destruction? HAMAS leaders and their charter specifies the destruction of Israel! Would any country sit back and wait until further damage is done?

How would Canadians feel if someone decided they wanted the land, took it and refused to give it back despite international courts telling them to. Pretty sure they would fight back don,t you think?

Why doesnt the UN send in peacekeepers?

The UN have a big presence in Israel. I met a colonel in the Thai army working for the UN when I went to Israel a few years ago. That's also where I saw things were not equal at all for the Palestinians. I went to Israel with a very open mind and came back quite shocked.

also, if you feel like doing something, have a look at this.....this is the reason I never shop at Chapters

I seriously wonder if they would from these posts

Sure seems like we are only getting one side in the media.

Maybe theres a reason for that...

800 dead Palestinians (mostly civilians), 31 dead Israelis (mostly soldiers). Number of deaths from those terrible Hamas rockets? 1.

Ya think?
Let us not forget history is written and re-written by the "winning" side.

It wasn't that long ago that the US was responsible for the worst "war" crime of them all; prior to the Geneva Conventions of course. But you would never hear it from that angle... only "let's remember the 3k people we lost in 9/11, the greatest tragedy on earth (according to 'murrica)"

90,000–166,000 killed in Hiroshima
39,000–80,000 killed in Nagasaki
