The threaded PVC broke in half. The other half is still stuck in the brass elbow.

Local sprinkler guy installed this 5-6 years ago.
It's the water supply to the sprinkler system.
The interlocking settled and caused a break at the stress point.
Look for a wired solution ONLY. Unless running wires is 100% not possible.
(Everything is possible, dependant on budget and installers will and ability to make the impossible, possible)
You want a system with a local NVR, not dependant on the internet.
Smallest NVR can handle 4 channel so might as well find a spot for the 4th one.
Let me know, I can stop by and assist with figuring out location, install etc..

Security cameras, once you start looking into it, you'll be divided into a couple of camps, non motorized, and motorized, then split that into some sort of cloud based storage with or without monthly fee. Or roll your own storage system and networking.
Get at least 2k rez so you can see details. 1080 doesn't really cut, 4k obviously is better.

This is what I can come up with on a Saturday with HD supplies.
I'm going to wait too see if I can find brass 90 degree elbow instead on the PVC at a plumbing supplier. That is the stress point.
As much as I don't like shark bite, this is the easiest solution. I lhe like the stainless steel flex as it gives room for expansion or movement of the ground/interlocking.
What do you think?

Motorized (PTZ) gets expensive and often not viable for residential.
Cloud storage can also get expensive that's why local NVR is better.
4K is pretty much the norm now and is priced at an affordable price.

Oh I know, but to start it will be what people will find.
I have a home server NAS and wired network for everything, which I built. But not everyone can roll their own and want something that works. Which is why I believe Bell and Rogers offer these services. But
I don't want PTZ for most cameras. I want them aimed properly and fixed. I don't want to look at something and forget and leave the camera zoomed in and pointed at a fence.
The cameras I have up now are an inconspicuous as possible at the expense of not ideal coverage. I put cameras the colour of the soffit behind downspouts.
Make sure you hide NVR well. If a dirtbag is in your house most people have the DVR where it's easy to find so dirtbag takes it and you can't see what happened.
There are a lot of chinesium NVR's with god-awful interfaces. Try and take one for a test drive before you commit.
Assuming you use ethernet cameras, if you don't buy a system make sure your NVR supplies the proper power (POE, POE+, POE++).
Buying a Lorex system from costco is probably the easiest simple solution (unless oioioi wants to hook you up).

Ive been using two old (2017) PoE HIKvision 4k turret style cameras with an old galaxy NVR.
I'm due for an upgrade as well.
iirc, there are three major manufacturers for most security camera solutions:
HIKvision, Dahua and Uniview?
Most smaller companies just rebrand what they buy from the above wholesale.

I’ve got the house wired up already…now just need to pony up and pull the trigger on something.
Got 4-5 points wired up around the house when we were putting up the siding. As well as a line run to the basement to change the location of modem and install a local storage setup.
@oioioi will be my first call when I’ve got some cash available for this want.

Did you terminate the ethernet yet? If not, that job is much more pleasant on a nice day. Standing on a ladder terminating in freezing weather sucks.
No I have not. Funds won’t allow this to happen until the spring so I’m not too concerned.
Right now just cables with markings to know what’s what.
Is minus 30 degree on a December day to harsh?
Been there, done that. NEVER again. Unless the price is $1000 per termination.
Water pump **** the bed last week and that means no furnace here geothermal running of the house water. Had the fireplace cranked all week. Got the new pump in today wasn't as bad as I had feared seems good so far. Hardest part was finding the fittings I needed Peavey mart had them.

For anybody looking at CP24 news today, the targeted hit today in Oakville west was the house across the street from me , Eric , 30yrs old , 2 yr old kid at home, was shot in the face on his porch . He survived, will need some surgeries, but I think I’d like some cameras . Police kept asking if anybody had footage . In 4 yrs I’ve had 2 car break ins and now a targeted shooting across the street . I think it’s time for cameras .

We live in a scary world these days.
Not to be the big brother of the neighborhood but your cameras serve a dual purpose. Protect your family/property and the also serve as a watchful eye for the neighborhood or community. You may never have anything occur on your premises but your footage may be the solving piece of a large investigation.
When I speak with clients, I often refer to the situation from Newmarket which occurred several years ago. Multiples women were reporting of a man physically assaulting them around the Upper Canada Mall area. All the women had a similar story; a man wearing a hat and a hooded sweater touched them in areas where he shouldn't have and ran off.
Police scoured the entire neighborhood for CCTV footage and were able to identify him and eventually arrest him. All the identifiable footage was away from the scene of the assault.
I have several other similar stories from personal clients.
@crankcall hope you stay safe and those bastards get what they deserve.
On that note, I intentionally have my cameras aimed so as to minimize what is captured off my property. I understand that if aimed at the road they could capture something that may be useful but I also don't want to live in a world where people are constantly recording me and I assume many others feel the same way.
If you want good coverage of your house, for most people that means some cameras need to be located away from the house and looking back at it. This also presents some issues as you are trusting a chinesium NVR to be secure and not allow an intruder to look in your windows.
