Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Old shed is 11ft. Siding is 12ft.
Isn't the old shed garbage?.

Cut a hole in the side just big enough to fit all the siding in. All you will need to cover is a foot of it.

Why are you saving leftover siding?
Project not completed. Still got about $600 in siding there so whatever I don’t use in the spring I’ll post stupid cheap for sale.

I can only use it for so much lol. I was very conservative with my numbers.

Unfortunately a good day for riding is a good day for laying brick veneer…

It ain’t perfect, but it’ll do. I’m a bit proud of it in all honesty even if it isn’t 95% perfect.

It looks fantastic! Great job.
100% is only realistic with pros that have many hours of experience. 95% is better than I would expect from the average handyman.

Thanks! We actually had a pro come in to quote for times sake to do that wLl, and the grout.

$2800 was the final quote and he even commented on my cousins’ work…

‘Oh I would never get to that level of detail. I’d do much faster.’

Needless to say we didn’t hire him.

How is the Hydro situation?

Good question. 253.1 right now. I havent been checking it as often. Easiest place to check means toaster is unplugged and then wife and kids aren't happy. Hydro one hasn't been around so they probably aren't logging it either.

A ups is logging voltage but no decimals, questionable accuracy and only one leg. It is showing up to 127 in the middle of the night the last I checked the log. I havent been awake at that time to get a good measurement.

Sounds like Hydro is not making this as high of a priority as you would want them to.

I guess you could get two separate UPS units and plug them into two separate legs and try to log it that way with two separate PCs.
You may be able to get away with 2 PC but you would probably need two different brands of UPS so you are using different software.
(assuming that you are using a PC to log this)

I don't trust the meters in the UPS. I am trying to avoid spending a ton of money on a logging fluke so I have some evidence that I am confident in. Based on the ups, highest readings should be when I want to be sleeping. The other option is use a dso to log but that presents its own issues as that isn't really what it is designed to do. This would all be easier if hydro one used their equipment and logged for a few weeks and took action (or had justification not to take action).

Rube Goldberg but plug in a calibrated voltmeter and stick and old camera in front of it. Auto shut off and memory could be issues.

Busy day today…

Swapped out tires for winters on 4 cars.

Cleaned up the yard so I’m sure the neighbours love the sound of a good two stroke on a Sunday afternoon.

Swapped out the punctured tire on the trailer with a spare that’s NEVER touched asphalt / roadway only to find this…

How’s thT even possible with the tire located 1ft off the ground!?!? Must be magic as I’m stumped how that happened.

If the spare is that high, the only thing that makes sense is it came off the ball at some point and was dragged by the chains.

Swapped some Pfister faucets in a bathroom for some Moen ones from Costco. The Pfisters were getting stiff and there was some discolouration from metal salts. Dismantling everything it was apparent the Moens were built and designed better. Beefier locking nuts, more thoughtful connections and better/easier installation. Nice easy job after the Pfister ones were removed.
