Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

Surprised you didn't find cement under there.
I think the concrete blocks were enough.

Ah well. Never a dull moment.

But we did decide NOT to build a 10x10 shed but to keep to the 8x10 that is currently at my sis house.

Now to transport that mofo with minimal damage.

There’s also very fine gravel under some of the pad of where I want it so I guess Kevin gets a + for that.

Stihl MS250 C-BE. Will be using it today to cut down some large grape vines before they strangle trees.
Thanks, I've been thinking about getting a chainsaw, I've enough trees, and issues with them, living backed onto a ravine. Might also get a saw on polearm to cut some branches etc. I've a little remington electric chainsaw, been ok, but need something more robust.
We'll see what's on sale for fathers day.

The regular 250 is on sale for $449 now as it’s been lightly updated to the 251 that’s $100 more and isn’t worth it imo. Try the CBE version though as the easystart on it was worth the extra $100 to me as I figure I’m strong now but when I start approaching my 70’s I’ll likely be happy I paid the extra money for it. You’re welcome to try mine next time you’re riding by.

I got a greenworx cordless pole saw. It came with a trimming attachment. It’s paid for itself several times over. I actually used the saw part to take down two small trees. I also got a Sunjoe electric chipper when it went on sale last year and the thing ate all the tree parts thinner than 2” diameter. I get free mulch and some firewood from what’s left over plus I don’t have to pay anyone to collect the brush.

Edit: I found I also like chipping trees up in the thing. It’s oddly quite relaxing, like shredding bills.

Nice, really, curious how big branches or trees can you cut with it?

I've got some pretty big and mature trees out back.

I took down a 15ft cedar with it. Also chopped down a bigger diameter trunk damson tree. I wouldn’t use it for large mature trees though. It’s fine with trunks about 6-8” with care. That’s for the pole saw.

The chipper is great for most branches. Also if they are fairly straight you just feed them in without chopping and it’s like a paper shredder. Chipping cedars gives me good useable mulch.

Kevin Kevin Kevin…wtf were you thinking? I really want to know because I’m not sure how to deal with a crushed gravel layer 2” below my soil…

I hate those effing grates that seem standard in new sinks. Constantly fighting with them when cutlery slips under or into the wire grid. Not to mention the first inch of water is usless. (no auto dishwasher all hand washed)
I would remove them but then the sink gets deeper and harder on my back.

The ******* thing cost me enough so I’m using it!

Hardest part of making my hard cider was carrying the carboys and bottles upstairs to wash them. When a friend offered me this SS laundry tub set up I was all over it. I jacked it up w/ a 2x8 base so reaching to the bottom of the deep sink is now easy on my back. Same friend also offered me some PEX for the install. I threw money at Sharkbites and it litterally snapped together. No sweating copper. Very happy.IMG_0473.JPG

Noticed one of my gutters overflowing around the down portion of the eve's during yesterdays rain. Pretty sure it's clogged with leaves. I also have one of these at the transition

Do you guys use these?

No. They cause more problems than they solve imo. Especially if your downspout kicks out onto the lawn, I want debris to flow in as easily as possible. I have never had a plugged downspout. I have had many plugs at the interface between the downspout and eavestrough.

Where in the lines did you put the Sharkbites? I need to install a water softener and haven't used a torch in decades and don't want to mess it up but chickening out for using Sharbites to connect to rest of house if they spring a leak.

I would try NOT using sharkbites.

If you talk to real professional plumbers, they don't trust them.
