Enough of COVID...what are you doing to the house?

When my parents moved off the farm , we moved 3 cases of motor oil into a storage locker at the new condo, and 19 yrs later when he passed away I moved 3 cases of vintage motor oil to a recycle center. But I miss the annual conversation about “ change the oil in anything yourself this yr , or top up the oil in the brand new car?? “

Pool guys have been going at it for four days now. Pool is still not swim ready.
There seems to be a lot of silt or sand on the bottom, possibly from the wind storm.
Is there a reason why this shouldn't be vacuumed up? Should I set it to waste?

What type of filter do you have? What was being done to pool? Short answer, probably vaccuum to waste if there is a lot of inorganic in pool. Longer answer, if it's a sand filter, maybe it puked into the pool and requires repair.

What are they doing? No reason you couldn't vacuum to waste I don't think.

If you use the trouble free pool method and ignore the pool guys you will have a crystal clear pool always. You should be able to tell if a dime is heads or tails on the bottom of the deep end always. Only 3 things you need to pay attention to pH fc and cya keep those in check and it is easy. Don't put anything else in. Also get a robot mine vacuums the pool every day at 5 am so it is always ready. Best money I have ever spent.

I won’t be responsible for flying mattresses like that mofo did to us.

I check pH an chlorine every second day an after every gosod rain. Keep those in check and the pool will look after itself.

In May my wife won a Polaris P945 pool cleaning robot in a draw at the local pool supply. If you don't have one, you need one -- trade in you car if u have to -- i can't believe I vacuumed my pool for 25 years.

I was given a sick pool robot last week (made noises but didn't move, parts unobtanium). Quick disassembly and belt tension roller shafts were worn out. Quick fix and it works well. Not as good as a modern robot that happily scrubs the waterline but works well to clean the bottom and part of the walls (our sides rarely need scrubbed unless chemicals have gone wrong). Total investment $0. Happy with that deal.

Funny you say that, my neighbour brought his 20 year old robot over last year, similar issue - drive rollers missing a few rows of teeth, no replacements available. I took the drives off, cut grooves into the drive rollers with my table saw and glued in replacement teeth made from an abs sheet. Still runs like new.

I have a p945 Polaris that someone can have if they want to try and fix it has a drive motor error code. Parts are available but I bought a new one rather than try and fix it. I think it got water in one drive unit. I replaced it with a new one but they work fantastic.

If nobody else has called it, Id love to grab it next time I am down your way. That's far better than the aquabot I currently have.

They are the bomb when it comes to cleaners. Make the drive, you won't regret it.

It's called the lost cost fallacy. He's invested 10 years in it and it's too valuable to throw out.
I know. I get that from him also.

Need to learn to drop and remove things I don’t use. It just sits there…so much junk.

Now if only I could find my 19mm socket for my volt wheels….

Isn't there a thing against putting a flat screen above a heat source?
