Hmmm....got called an a$$hole today by my buddy because I use a leaf blower in Mississauga to clean my yard. Didn't think so as I typically try to do the leaves during my lunch hour, or before 7pm (even though it's dark as hell by 5pm nowadays) so as not to bother the neighbours. Says I should be raking my yard so I don't disturb the neighbourhood peace and quiet.
I'm torn now lol.
Gas 2 stroke. You've seen my yard....I don't think a single (or two) batteries would do it.Gas or electric. 40 volt electric are good.
It probably doesn't matter. Some people (statistically old people ime) are morally opposed to leaf blowers. It's not just the noise and quieter is still much louder than a rake. They also have all the time in the world to rake their lawn (and shake their fists at city hall).Gas or electric. 40 volt electric are good.
If anyone ever complains about me using the leaf blower before 7pm I’ll politely tell them that i will gladly allow them to pay for someone to do the work during the day so it doesn’t disturb them lolIt probably doesn't matter. My Honda mower does the same. Still do a lot of raking as well.Doesn't a blower just blow them onto somebody else's property? Or do you blow them into a pile and then put them in a bag?
What I do is I just put the bag on my mower and then mow my lawn and it sucks up all the leaves, quicker than raking and probably quicker than blowing too. I filled up 3 bags this way a few days ago.
The fastest way for me to deal with leaves is blow them into an area and then use the lawnmower to collect and/or mulch them. Mowing the whole lawn to pickup leaves takes an hour, blower plus mower is about half the time.Doesn't a blower just blow them onto somebody else's property? Loaned my neighbor my 1/2" torque wrench. Saw that he had his winter tires out in the driveway. He came back later and said it didn't work. No clicky sound. If they are idiots I don't loan, solves most of that.
Is it broken or was it user error?Loaned my neighbor my 1/2" torque wrench. Saw that he had his winter tires out in the driveway. He came back later and said it didn't work. No clicky sound.
He had to take his Ducati to a dealer took get the oil filter off.
An oil filter is about 12 to 15 ft lb or 3/4 of a turn from finger tight. The 1/2"drive torque wrench would probably turn the oil filter over a full turn against its thick gasket before making much torque. Is it broken or was it user error?
Ah, got it. I didnt realize the two thoughts were related. I thought the oil filter comment was on general mechanical competence. An oil filter is about 12 to 15 ft lb or 3/4 of a turn from finger tight. Torque wrench isn't needed.

I do mine early - local sound bylaws say 7AM is a good start time.Hmmm....got called an a$$hole today by my buddy because I use a leaf blower in Mississauga to clean my yard. Makes more power when the air is colder so really you are being courteous by minimizing the run time required.I do mine early - local sound bylaws say 7AM is a good start time.
I love the smell of 2-stroke in the morning.
I use a leaf shredder that reduces volume by about 80%, the result is a mulch that resembles wood shavings. The mulch is great for protecting tender perennials.I have Stihl blower, vac. Haven't used it in 3 years. They are noisy and in town not really necessary. Somehow we did without them years ago. Do some raking and bending over, it's better for you. I fill about 30 bags each fall.
Tell me more about this leaf shredder….how’s it deal with pine needles?I use a leaf shredder that reduces volume by about 80%, the result is a mulch that resembles wood shavings. The mulch is great for protecting tender perennials.
