Embridge Workers Scam

I hate to burst your bubble, but i have the right,24/7 to access our meter, if you refused and were a jerk,i would turn off the gas, do my work, leave you a call card, and when you were cold or wanted hot water, you could call in and wait up to 4 hrs for a tech to come and turn it on lmfao, done it many times, on top of that, when a meter is turned back on, we have to inspect all appliances, and believe me, when people are rude,we can and will find an infraction resulting in the gas being turned of until it's fixed at your expense, so next time a tech comes to your door to work on or meter or regulator, be nice. The part I hate most about my job is having to A tag customers in the middle of winter, leaving their gas off, the part I like most about my job is, issuing an A tag to a customer that is a jerk leaving their gas off in the middle of winter lmao.

How does the ID look like? I managed to get a quick glimse when I asked to see their ID.. It had nothing to do with Embridge though.

Everybody is talking about Enbridge but you keep typing Embridge, so which one is it?

Doubtful, I am sure there is a standard of whats reasonable (ie during business hours). Keeping something "accessible at all times" is very different than you thinking you have some right to access it any time you like (ie 24/7). I can't stand how people think they are such bad ***** at their job by saying macho moronic **** like this. Maybe it's time to give your companies manual a read huh?

From 4.3
Customers are responsible, subject to the provisions of paragraph 4.3.4, for protecting all metering
and regulating equipment necessary for the supply of gas and for keeping it accessible at all times.

6.2. Meter Reading
Enbridge reads your meter every other month and will estimate your consumption based on your
historical gas usage in between readings. Customers must provide access to the Company or its’
agent for meter reading purposes at least once every twelve (12) months. If Enbridge’s representative
is unable to read the meter, a bill will be issued based on an estimated reading. If Enbridge has been
unable to read a meter during normal working hours, arrangements will be made to obtain a reading
at the customer’s convenience. You can also submit your own meter reading using the Submit Meter
Reading Form on our website or alternatively, you can call the Enbridge Call Centre at 1-800-268-
5442.

Speaking of morons, I hate when people like you talk as if you are smart lmao, I don't read meters,I fix leaks, change regs, meters. From September to October, even if you're not home, we will turn the gas off, do our work and leave a call card. I've been doing it for 22 yrs. I do mostly commercial work, but our guys who do all residential do turn offs. I have turned of many places including rest. If they give me a hard time, I give them the choice, either they let me in to check appliances, re lite ect. Or it's left off. It has nothing to do with bring a bad ass, it had everything with doing my job. We leave rest., apartment buildings off all the time because of infractions,I left probably 10 buildings off last winter myself, do I enjoy it, no but I have no choice, you always have something to say about things you know nothing about, I guess you think your cool. PM me your address I will check to see if there is any work pending, or coming up on you're gas meter. If so I will get the called issued to me.

Enbridge does not supply me with gas. But thanks for the moronic invitation.

So who supplies you with gas then? Unless you're in Union Gas area, it's Enbridge. If you're in Unions area, that's to bad,I would of loved to A tag your house, leave the gas off and laugh at you. It's customers like you that make my job worthwhile, As I walk out in the middle of winter, knowing people like you have no heat brings a smile to my face.

This is why I love this site. There is always somebody here works there, or knows the trade.

I thought nobody had the right to enter a home, esp. with a woman home alone. But because gas can kill, I do believe you.
But I sure wouldn't want to be alone in a house with a strange woman. No matter what she says it's your word against hers.

My favorite is when im approaching 20 hours straight of work, on an emergency call to restore power to a building and a tenant starts giving me **** for turning their power off.

The only rule we have for entering is, the person has to be over 18, but we can still perform the work and leave the gas off, and leave a call card. If the job is changing the meter for government inspection the owners will get 3 letters, if they fail to respond we well turn off the gas. If the call is initiated by the meter reader, or maybe someone walking by smells gas, ect. We go unannounced. Every meter we turn off has to be leak tested when turning it back on, you would be surprised how many places we leave off due to leaks. We also come across bad installations by either fly by night companies, or customers doing it themselves. I usually go out of my way to help the customer. I've fixed leaks for free, or at the very least, find the leaks so when they get a contractor it saves on diagnostics. Most customers are smart enough to know if the person at the door is legit. Only advice i can give is,Enbridge will not ask to see the gas bill. We will introduce ourselves, we will have an ID badge on, and we will explain exactly why we are there, and it will be for the meter or regulator, not the appliances.

lol! No I didn't let anyone in, I never let anyone in.
But these guys claimed Embridge is dropping rates down for you (me) that I'm currently saving money. They wanted to see the bill(s) if it has changed.

These guys had no company vehicle or anything, just walked door to door.

Anyways, I reported them to fraud services with the area and time that has happened.

it's a scam. they're resellers trying to dupe you into buying a contract for their company.
it's illegal for them to claim they're from another company to try and see you bill.

if they come back, ask for their ID, take it down and call the Ontario Energy Board complaints line. http://www.ontarioenergyboard.ca/OE...nsumer+Relations/Have+a+Question+or+Complaint

If they won't give you ID, tell them to get off you property or you'll call the police

I hate door to door scammers.

It has nothing to do with self worth it's putting people like you in your place. You're the type of person that thinks he's cool, being the tough guy with people that have a job to do. I have delt with many people just like you, in reality they are just losers, so doing my job properly I get to make then suffer a little and cost then a lot to fix the issues i find, and go home to my warm house win win for me
