None of this response by any government was based on sound science. We have people who are "public health" experts overruling what epidemiologists have spent decades figuring out because of the optics in mandating the extreme measures we need.
If we are going to half-ass things, and forsake decades of medical science. Then have so called experts change their mind, based on the wave of vocal opinions, and what politicians want. You'll end up with an equally vocal population that can't put up with constant changes that are "well it's science so it's right!" when spewed by these so called experts. This is a basic human condition to react that way.
While I don't condone these "anti-maskers" and "anti-vaxxers", right here Superveloce shows what lies as the problem with the other extreme, who tells us we all must follow the rules.
"Don't go out! Take COVID seriously! Why are you out?" Well the question becomes, why are they then out? Why is their trip so essential to Home Depot, to Walmart, to the grocery store? There are a dozen delivery options out there, they didn't have to leave their front door the last 14 months. So they have no moral high ground.
Like in politics, both extremes of this argument are reprobates.
