Durham police constable threatens to beat up man and plant cocaine on him, video

That's the most accurate and real police video i've ever seen on tape.

This is the truth. I have several friends from high school who went on to be cops. This happens all the time. I've been actually told much worse stories. Lets also not get into the cops I know in LA.. its much worse..

I always wonder which kind I am going to get when I get pulled over..

Durham police disciplined the constable, who uses the f-word more than three dozen times in the video, for discreditable conduct over the incident. He remains on the force’s “front lines.”

This is what's wrong with the police forces. This 'cop' should have his badge and gun taken away for good and be jailed for uttering threats etc just like any other person would be for doing what he did. Just like stupid people, a few ruin it for the rest. :bs:

Unions....

Police forces need the much more stringent recruiting processes of the RCMP.

It won't cure the problem but it'll help alot

Yeah, they just run over and kill motorcyclists while drunk with their kids in the car then make up some flimsy excuse to leave the scene to establish a "I had a drink after I left the scene" defense. They're a much better example.

How is the RCMP more stringent?

Yes some officers. Don't paint em all.

I've always thought that the peeps that wanna be cops maybe shouldn't be/or should have their head checked! Kind of joking but not really. It's a sick job a lot of the time. Deal with society's dregs, everyone hates you because you are a cop and the dangers are very real and lethal. What kind of wackjob wants that gig?

I've seen people from all jobs abuse their power. Some peeps are just arseholes.

Unions....

I heard the unions are to blame for global warming, too

It has more to do with the blue wall.. No matter how bad the deeds are, there's always gonna be a bunch of cops defending the actions and justifying them... The less scrupulous ones will help the uniform-wearing criminal cover up the crime.

They have a very experienced interrogator interview you as well as grill you while doing a Polygraph.

The Psych test is a few hours long done by an actual Psychologist.

The entire hiring process is also 2-4 times longer and is much more involved.

I have close friends who have gone through the hiring process for RCMP as well as the "local" police forces and it is much more involved. One guy told me he had to keep catching himself cause he felt like they were talking him into "corners" and were almost making him feel like he wanted to admit things. From what I heard they seem to try and get you a upset and annoyed. test your patience and see how quick you are to get angry.

Yes, Yes...the RCMP has had more then it's share of issues of misconduct and murdering Polish people in Airports....all I'm saying is Police forces that don't utilize stricter recruitment processes will be more like to higher the guy you see in the video posted.

The selection process for Police officers needs to be more strict.

Like how about automatically rejecting any cold applicant. Maybe applicants should come endorsed by the community. Sounds crazy, I know.

****ing pigs, how can we file a formal complaint against these ****ers? How is it not a "serious" matter when what that ****er is saying is a crime and would land any of us in jail...

This is why cops don't get respect? LOL
You guys really need to understand and read what's on the Police Services Act on why officers just get a suspension.

As for those who think the police hire idiots, you're an idiot. You don't know the process of going through and what it takes to even get passed an interview.
People change, understand that.
Look at soldiers that go oversea and get PTSD, it changes their whole life and some get really messed up.

So why isn't this guy being charged once the evidence got presented? Just got a stern talking to, to be more careful in front of the cameras and unleashed on the unsuspecting public again. I don't wanna be dealing with that clown.

^ only thing I can think of is the guy he was talking smack to is a real dirtbag himself...

Even if that's the case, framing somebody for something they didn't do is a horrible crime and should be punished accordingly, especially from an empowered group that should be held to higher moral standards.

People change? Well, if you're such a smart@ss, why not propose a regular (every few years) psych test then? So you think it's OK to become mentally messed up and continue to stay on the force?

odd thing is I have lived in the durham region for 36 years and I don't ever recall seeing police from any force wearing uniforms that looked like that.

I had thought the same thing. I started looking at the comments to see if it was actually a force in the US somewhere, but...

Could be camera settings, I guess.
