dog food selection?

We started our rotti out on blue buffalo right from the start. She developed stomach issues and now will be stuck on Hills Prescription diet (sensitive stomach) for life .. groan.

Trying pricing that stuff out .. $80 a bag.

The blue buffalo is $70 a bag as well

Well thats why I am looking into a food thats comparable but not so pricey. Costco has a grain free one thats has a pretty good review and its $38 for a 30lb bag... thats a huge savings!

Might be cheaper to feed him a raw diet..!?

But with cheaper foods you might have to feed more.

I remember at training class the trainer did a double-take when one of the other guys said he had to feed his (~2-year old) Doberman 6 cups of food a day. Then when that guy said it was a Costco brand, the trainer was like "OHHHhh that's why."

So maybe check the recommended daily feeding? If you end up feeding a lot more of the cheaper food you might not get any savings out of it.

best dog food is holistic blend. its not even in the dog food section in the supermarket you have to go to the organic section to find it. my 3 boys get that and fish oil capsules and coconut oil. bullmastiffs are super sensitive and I have had 2 live past 12. one is currently 9 and rocking like a pup.

Sooo cute...I always think of them like heavyweight boxers.

These guys have been getting the Costco stuff...better than average quality...great price.
The big guy gets some Ultra large breed on occasion ...but its pricey. I will try that Acana.

Main reason I feed acana is they source the food from canada. My dog eats better than me. Remember that whole recall from a number of brands because the pet food was killing pets because they were using protein sourced from china that turned out to be melamine No thanks. I like Chinese food but it has to be made in Canada and my dog doesn't get any

Gus gets a diet of fresh cooked fish, poultry (limited red meat protein), raw blueberries and vegetables, essential oils (all balanced) mixed with
Merrick dry dog food. One happy healthy puppy. I think a large bag is about $70 though

Having Bulmastiffs for 20+ years..... Is that the 20+ years of big breed experience you mentioned in a earlier thread?

"...I sure as hell know what I'd rather look like from the two above."

Which one?

I'd rather have Wanderlei's body type of course, he's the lean muscular guy. The other dude may look soft but he's also one bad mother****er...
