Does this look THAT bad??

If he runs bags most of the time, I would be tempted to put the signals on the bags. If he flips back and forth, probably also put folding signals in where his stock ones are to allow me to flip them out when bags are off.
Was thinking that. Or maybe put the signals on the tail bag only but you’ll not be able to take it off.

I had a similar set up on my previous bike. Yes it does look odd but the handling was surprisingly good with the bags on. I would argue even better but then again I had a Katana and it's not like they are known for handling.

These mounting brackets for the Shad panniers look a lot closer to the bike than yours:

b) Aftermarket exhaust and how it is pointing

Can you reposition the exhaust so that it's angled the same as stock?

Turn signal should be an easy fix. Buy the shorter one and relay but I can't move the exhaust anymore.

So far so good. People are giving me a lot more room

Personally wouldn't want something that much wider than my actual bike, I guarantee I would bang it off something misjudging a gap in traffic or something out of habit.

Seems like a bit of a simp move. Hope it doesn’t happen to me now.

That's a good pull from the archives

My Hepco bags have SWMotec mounts, they deal with the exhaust.

I always go top box, owned a FZ1 with hard side luggage, was a royal pain. Nothing worse than trying to navigate downtown riding a barge.

I just don’t want to spend $600 on the side luggage and racks for the X. I’m liking the SHAD setup but would like a top box to fit my helmet.

Still haven’t figure out if I can just install the top box with the SHAD.

Lots of good feedback here, got me thinking....my GF always asks if her rear end is too wide, I have an idea.... now where's my camera?
I have learned the answer to that question is always 'looks awesome babe. Love it the way it is babe' ... have never been sent to the couch. Although it's not a bad place to be in this heatwave.

How do you open those side-opening bags without your stuff falling out on the ground?
Many of them have straps to keep your stuff contained. They might also have lids that only open to a 90deg amount so anything that falls out just lands on the lid.

It can be a bit sloppy with full cases of smaller items, but the upside is stuff doesn’t get buried at the bottom of the case.

My cases open to well over 90 degrees but if the bike is on the sidestand, stuff will use the open lid as launch point before hitting the ground, thats why I use a flexible cooler bag to hold everything and it fits in the case almost perfectly.
