Does Music affect your Speed and riding style?

Watched Dark knight this Tuesday, ended up downloading the "Chant" from the prison escape scene and played it while riding back. I just felt this rush to speed and go dangerous, but very soon I realized I am not being myself and slowed down on DVP south @ 1:00Am in the morning. The point being does Music affect your style of riding, speed etc. Experiments have shown cows giving more milk, eating in greater Quantity given the type of Music therapy they were introduced to. Other animals were tested for similar results. Usually I listen to lectures while riding, but this time i switched due to my fondness for the chant and felt really strange. It felt as if the chant has taken control of my emotions and ability to be sensible for the time being. I guess this was the reason why they had war chants, Also the chants from the crowds watching the game have an effect on the players.....Would like to know your experience.

Here is the chant.

Will make a good workout music I believe.

my play list is all EDM....and hence I ride hooliganism mode.

I cant be in control of a motorized vehicule with metal playing. Makes me go nuts. Empowers me

I just need the roar of my gixxer to make my Nuckn' Futz.

Hahah, why do I picture you wearing armour, a cape, and zigzagn passed cars as if you were off to fight crime

Make sure you really like your soundtrack when you realize the man is chasing you down.

yeah. Music makes rides more...interesting.

I need to listen to Taylor Swift while I ride. Just puts me in the zone . . . .

I like to thrown on some Benny Hill, that really gets me going... in circles.

I am sorry but I look at your avatar pic and all I can see and hear is you burning down the road to the sounds of "Danger Zone". Just saying...:p

between that and Thunderstruck, it's amazing they still let me ride on the street :D

Music is an emotional medium, it will effect most people. I don't like riding with music, partly because I like the serenity of nothing but my thoughts and the natural sounds, sights and smells while I ride. Though in the car, its completely opposite, though music does not seem to effect my driving, it was noticeable when I did listen to music riding up to Tobomory taking all the back roads, and it was not noticeable till I looked down at my speed.

Is it even legal to listen to music while riding? For some reason I thought it was not, though not sure why.

Depends on what I'm listening to.
I was on the 33 in WV listening to Whiskey in the Jar, damn music got me so pumped up I was scraping fairings thru that road.
Did same road later on in the week on the way home with no music and was much much slower.
Almost like the music takes your cares away and you just go for it.
Or Celine Dion could have come on ad I would have rode rite off the cliff.

Music brings out emotions in people.

Also, I think it also reduces wind noise, and engine noise (the music overthrows it) so you don't think you're going as fast as you really are. Since you're used to hearing the engine, and wind tell you that. I get that effect when I put in earbuds.

I try to listen to music when riding, but my ears kill earphones. After a week of using (doing ANYTHING, not even while riding) they just stop working.

Big time difference - Creedance or Heart ups the throttle - Barracuda in particular.....good headphones really are a wonderful addition to the riding experience IMNSHO

If you are riding with just earplugs it is a nice smooth time but you're not listening to "natural sounds" and if you are not using earplugs you aren't going to be hearing much of anything soon enough. ;)

I like to get the bike setup so the sound with earplugs is about the same as a fibreglass sailplane - just a fairly soft rustling of the wind.

Then dial in whatever I'm in the mood for - from YoYo Mah to my rock play list.

"Danger Zone". Just saying.
yeah that's a fav for me too....
