Not at all, could not start my old bike at Humber College years ago, called a friend of mine, he showed up with his minivan, we threw the bike in, security didn't say a word, just starred at us funny.

yeah i hear you... if the guys act casual and collected they can definitely get away with it. ....btw i go to humber currently. north campus. hopefully my bike doesnt get scooped up by a minivan! :o :)

Can you please tell us more. Like where you park it. How long you are away from it.
Really. don`t.

lol. mean.

...id imagine schools and malls are ok as theres a lot of people walking around as long as u park close to an entrance / beside other bikes if its an option.

I think the general public would find 2 or 3 guys loading a motorcycle into a truck @ a school or mall entrance suspicious and hopefully report it at the least...

I tailed a car into my frd's underground parking for his condo and started working on his bike before he got home. Nobody said a word.

To contrast, six of us went into his condo to wash our cars, security asked wtf we were doing. Go figure.

Unfortunately bikes get stolen a lot everywhere there light and easy to pick up and throw in a truck. What i've found the best deterrent is go to Home depo and buy the toughest chain possible (usually a gold colour) and a good quality lock. Disc locks, alarms and other things like that are useless when 2 strong men just lift the bike and throw it in a contractor truck.

Off topic but wannaferrari, How fast is your Beamer that it beats 600's? Is it like a 10 second car or just beat novice riders?

Theres a dedicated parking for motorcycles in Humber north thats literally 10-12 steps away from the security parking office thats monitored from 7am-9/10pm.

Before the whole new parking layout, the previous motorcycle parking was located 40-50 steps in front of the main security entrance where it can be seen from the office.

Good to know -I'll be starting some part time evening classes there come April, I'll look for that area!

Yes, because thieves are terrified of gold-coloured chains and run away from them.

Get an unattractive bike or a massive chain from the UK.

^^This. Almax or Protector 16/19 mm chain is a great deterrent, but they're heavy as hell.

Thieves stole my neighbour's e bike that was parked beside my bike last week. They ripped the alarm out the top box, and tossed it beside my bike. My 19mm chain, 3 locks and a cover were enough of a deterrent that night. I am really looking forward to when they come back.

Honestly the best solution I have found is that I used to live in Scarborough, had my R1 stolen once in condos garage. But then ever since I moved to Yonge Finch area those better condos, never had my bikes stolen again (used to have 848, now s1k). And I don't chain them down at all because condo's management wouldn't allow anything drilled to the ground. I just put a cover on whenever I could. Friend has a HP4 living in the same area, again no issues. This whole motorcycle theft thing is LARGELY dependent on the AREA you live in. But if you leave it on the street overnight, it will get stolen no matter where you are at.

my good idea is parking infront of a nursing home. old people sit outside all day staring at it. no one could ever steal it there.

I pay 110 bucks a month to store my bike at a self storage... I was thinking one night that I'm paying too much. I decided to cancel. Next day, leaving to tell the storage guy about cancelling, I came downstairs in the garage to find my car's mirror, viper blades(front and back),antenna broken...

....The bike stays where it is!
