do ducati SS riders get more attention than other SS riders?

on a side note, my sisters bf was over one time. he saw my daytona and commented on it saying "yo sweet ducati man". to which i replied, "its not a ducati" "oh, what is it?" "its a triumph daytona." ."
So not only is he screwing your sister but also got your bike wrong..tsk tsk, some people

Personally, I think they look like **** and sound like crap. Over-rated. If I was to move away from Suzuki, I'd move to Aprillia. The RSV4....that's a sick looking bike! Good for tall riders too!

No offense to Ducati riders...it's just personal preference.

What do you call tall? I'm 188 cms and I'm way too tall for the Ape.

Who gives a Crap...

are your riding? or posing at tim hortons?

The only person your bike needs to impress is yourself!!

Well said.

I do like most Duc's including all their SS's (including the much-maligned 999) and the Sport Classic. Not a big fan of two cylinders though but that's just personal bias.

My wife wants an 848 in white and I'm sure I'll get to ride that.

They "used to" get more attention. Now Duc's are a dime a dozen now. Due to their mass production of cheaper and cheaper bikes, they have lost a lot of their 'exclusivity'.

That is why I got an MV agusta F4 only 5 on the road in Toronto

Always wondered what all the fuss was about, had a friend leave me an 08 848 for a few months. Rode it like 3 times and didnt like it, I much prefer riding my 09 ZX6R over it...I just dont like V-twins, even with the wet clutch, just not my cup of tea I guess....Id rather have 2 jap bikes for the price of one Ducati ......Or if I was going to spend that kind of money on one bike, Id go Aprillia , or BMW

Not many people can appreciate or handle the V twin raw power and unpredictable power. Just remember Ducati are track bike first and gets you experience of a track bike. Japanese bikes are design for the more general public.

It was so nice last nite I went for a ride on my Italian bicycle, vintage Pinarello , its the Ducati of bicycles. I got almost the same attention as my Italian motorbike gets.

Its the spandex shorts, my fabulous package gets all the attention.

Here is an OPINION about a bike from someone that has never ridden one.

..Oh yeah... GTAM... carry on.

Exhaust notes.

I4 are like angry bees, but that "subwoofer growl" from a V2 is just sexy to anyone.

They do have a great sound at speed, agreed.

I love the look of them too. If I ever leave the Busa, it will be for an 1198

Come again?

Anyway, I'm pretty sure Johnny knows what he's doing LOL.

you mean that dry clutch rattle sound?
What sound?

Have you checked out the 1198 ergos?I tried one for about a half hour...torturerack!

Actually i'm surprised Johnny isn't attracted to the torque of the twin for his "up on one stuff".But he has spent tons of time with I4's.And to be honest,i still say that most people could do faster laps with a big 4 ss simply because you won't be afraid of the consequences of tossing it into the weeds.

Holy carp, how come nobody ever told me that tossing it into the weeds is a consequence of going fast! No wonder I'm slow :(

i know. i can't imagine being on that thing all day...then again, i can't imagine being on a gixxer or a ninja all day either.

but for outright showroom sexy, the new Ducati models get a big thumbs up from me.

they're coming over to check you out ;)

awww, thanks BusaBob! :)

What sound?

it may be a torture rack, but oh such sweet torture!! lol ....actually, I can ride my 1198 all day without any pain
