Discount Codes for GP Bikes?

Sooo... they're giving you 30% off the list price and, "they don't do anything for me". Additionally since you have visited them and riders choice to try the stuff on and now know your size you're now going to order from "some Germany seller" and go pick it up in US.

Given that you've previously bought tires and had your suspension adjusted I'm shocked that they don't give you the stuff for free.

Just order it from Germany and call it a day.

Poor technique? More like weeding out the serious from non-serious customers. Why would they negotiate with every person that can pick up a phone and call them? If you're serious, make the effort and go in. Jeez.

You're a piece of work nasu. If you prefer buying online from some german place than actually receiving customer service and negotiating a price in person then you don't deserve any price break at all. How about supporting local businesses because they are integral to the community, not because they are going to kiss your ass and give you a massive price break just for being a customer.

funny, I am serious when I see they beat or match the 30% off I was getting. The come on in sales it`s just like a car. I won't come in unless I come to buy the actual product for the price I want. Yes it`s a competitive market for them and they are smart buyers out there and there is full price or 5% , 10% discount buyers. When you spend about 4K, 30% add up quite a bit ...

Anyways I won't waste anymore time here either just buy it from there and let it be, sure I wanted to support the damn local but who can I ? ..I won't rip myself off just to help them ..that`s no me, I will get the best deal while trying to give the good local business the opportunity to take my business not it`s up to them if they are competitive enough or not..

u re retarted joel.... first of all RC didn't offer any prices unless I come a second time to them in person to negotiate I don't like these poor sales Technics and I will avoid doing that.
I don't pick up in US, I have people coming weekly between Canada/US so they will bring it over.
What the f is your problem... ? you working for them ? call it a day

The weight of the insult is always contingent on the quality of the source. So I'm feeling pretty good.

The come on in sales it`s just like a car.

I know what you mean, I don't even want to come in and deal with sales. I send mass email to all dealers in area with price I'm ready to buy at, and wait who replies to come on in.
Once in a while even if I tell them that it's my final price and don't waste both our time they'll still try to pull a fast one on me once I'm there which results in me walking out.

On a RC topic, last year they were more expensive than GP bikes on A* gear I wanted to buy, and I was there in person, so I took my business to GP.
This year I did pickup some nice Rev'it gloves from them, but once again they were more expensive than buying online by about $50.

I think you're buying dick...all talk... I'm in sales and we consider guys like you 'nojoys.. Youre not a buyer that would be taken seriously. Opposite of a qualified buyer... waste of time, IMO.

I buy buddy for the right price, cash, credit, whatever they want. Sales guys are too funny, they think everyone is an idiot and listen to their speech, oh we don't usually discount on this we are not allowed what is that non sense coming from ? You want me to listen to that BS ..just give me a break, I tell you the price I want to buy it make it easy yes or no I buy from you or from a different source why waste each other's time again ?

I wouldn't go so cheap as to take a local shop's livelihood away. RC been around for a long time and they are good people and have done allot for the riding community. I don't think they would come to your work place and demand 30% off, but for sure negotiation is good to get value.
From what I've seen over the years RC prices low to begin with to lessen the need for "negotiation". They make a minimum mark-up to keep the doors open.
They have also covered that tax sometimes if you pay in cash which adds an extra 13% savings.

Going the German / US route, did you end up paying more in the end? (exchange rates, duties, taxes, shipping, etc)?
It's not a good time to be shopping global markets with the current value of our Canadian dollar.

Does John McBride still live at RC?

I love these 'debates' , I've been in sales for years, my 2 cents

A. when you get a spam mail from a guy that lists 1,2,3, things I want, give ne your best price. Ok you'll get a reply, I wont be dropping my pants.
B. some guys think everything in life is a negotiation, it might be age or cultural. If its a big enough bill there could be some room, or not.
C. I can get it for 'X' over there, yes you can, enjoy that warranty card from country X, ... Oh, now you have an issue and cant see why the CDN distributor doesn't care about your product bought in Europe.
D. There may be a vendor agreement in place, this product does not sell under X amount at retail. Sell under the number and loose a product line. Yes, that's a real thing, the salesguy CANT give a huge discount.
E. there is a guy coming in the door right behind you, that will buy a range of products, may ask about a price break, but understands somebody has to pay to keep the staff showing up and the lights on. He's not an idiot for overpaying, he's just a guy that likes to try goods on, take it home that day.

Time wasters like you make me sick...

Anyone know what times of the year GP normally does their no tax sales? Knowing my luck I just missed one :angry4:

They'll probably have one next weekend when the bike show is going on

LMFAO....
Sounds like a bargaining ploy for buying vegetables at an outdoor market in some third world country..

@crankcall re: point B the Italian in me negotiates every transaction, whether successful or not. I've found that it never hurts to ask for a price break.
But one thing is that I am never an @$$ about it. Plus, everyone loves a fat guy.

I get a lot of folks live for the negotiation (Italians) and nobody ever saved money faster than asking for a break, and getting it. It's the millennial , and other cultures with the indignant , I will give you XX!! yeah.... not today you won't.....

i've never had any problem negotiating for a bit better price, i just see/speak to the gear/accessories manager directly and talk to him, i dropped a 2-3k using cash/debit last season there and never paid they're list price once. I actually hate going there now, because i always either spend 2-500 minimum or i don't buy anything because i want to buy too much and cant justify any of it. Going to try to take it easy with them this season.
