don't fool yourself laddie...you'll still have aches and pains but also be able to do decent distance.I want to be able to do long distance touring into my 70’s, instead of complaining about aches and pains.

It's always easier to NOT eat the food than burning it off through exercise. I mean 1 hour of endurance can burn 300-600 cals depending on how hard youre going. And thats basically a burger lol.I carried about 100lbs of stone from the front of the cottage to the rear…but I won’t count that.
I’m going to try and focus on the actual food intake instead of the exercise as that’s my main issue.
As for moving forward….trying to get back to my daily walk (although that is tough with kids by the time I can get out is approx 9pm), and back into weight lifting as of tomorrow or Wednesday.
Good luck everyone on your journey. My goal is 15lbs by end of year down to 165lbs or so. Ideally will lose 5-8lbs by Mexico in Feb.
I would feel personally attacked…but I didn’t have salad last week.
if you need scans and they are dragging their feet, clinics in buffalo will do it with a few days notice -$800.Man i miss my morning walks. Seeing my dr Monday to get the ball rolling and do something about my worn out hips. With our overloaded health care system, I'll be surprised if get anything inside a year.
I may go that route. It's only money. And as a senior, time is precious.if you need scans and they are dragging their feet, clinics in buffalo will do it with a few days notice -$800.

And the funny part is they’re millionaires but refuse to pay up and go get it done in the states.
I’m with others. If you can go get it done quicker. Do it.
This is all true, but I’ll add one thing about exercise. Choose your exercise it carefully - I like many have found out that vigorous exercise works wonders in youth, but parts do wear out with use.I want to be able to do long distance touring into my 70’s, instead of complaining about aches and pains.
Even though I think exercise is very important, I believe that a healthy diet is slightly more important than exercise. Also, from what I’ve seen in those around me, being overweight and/or out of shape in your youth is one thing, but that will suck as you age.
For me, a job change in summer of 2022 meant I had way less time to work out than before, since I used to exercise for 90 minutes, 4-5x a week. I still do 90 minutes of hot yoga every Saturday and Sunday, but now will have the time to do more, since I’m comfortable in my work.
I also exercise more consistently with a goal to achieve, so I signed up to run a 34km event at the end of April. I also have cycle trainers and a simple gym at home to balance out the running with different cardio and strength training. So that will mean 6days of exercise a week until race day.
Lastly, genetics and luck play a big role in our future health, but eating well and exercising now can help with rehabbing injuries and illnesses down the road.
Until you are going up a big hill. Then you feel like an old man.The other thing about cycling is that it makes you feel like a kid again.
** disclaimer, excessive amounts of cycling is correlated to afib and does not promote strong bone health (no physical impact along with barely any load on the muskolo-skeletal system)This is all true, but I’ll add one thing about exercise. I played competitive hockey into my 50s, most of the guys I played with have some form arthritis or serious joint problem, knees, hips, shoulders that interfere with life. Same happened to my serious tennis players, runners and swimmers.
Something magic about cycling… cyclists appear to have immunity from athletic degeneration.
