Did you exercise today?

What type? I saw a manual Nordic track for a good price but think I’ll go with the electric ones instead. Seems like the better call but I assume most won’t last too long.

As for exercising…half my workout done and was just about to go for my walk but 1pm meeting and i won’t be back in time.

Hence why I want that walking pad, eliminate the excuses.
Would a mini stepper meet those needs? They seem to be much cheaper too.

24km each way
Half of it on bike trail, other half in traffic

Also did a nice quick 32k in about 1h10 minutes yesterday while waiting for kiddo to do her taekwondo.
Those industrial areas (with bike lanes!?!?) are hidden gems
That is an ideal distance. My work is 42km away and downhill to work and uphill back (seems like uphill both ways), I never attempted it though.

My morning ride is around 16 km and you are so right, it is through an industrial area with very little traffic early in the morning, I used to take a road and trail for 27km until Covid and the trails got too busy as everyone was out early.
You are fast, it takes me 50+/- 5 min to do the 16km route and used to take me 1 hr 35 min to do the 27km. The shorter route has more hills, and the last hill before home is when I know what I am made of :ROFLMAO:

Maybe too small a job for the what you did in the garage thread. Didn’t want to put the winter bike away with the spindle toothed chainring so changed it up. Got 2 seasons out of this SRAM which I had to beg for at bike shop as it was a takeoff from a new bike and only that had it near me. Now I got the new one from Amazon. Even after I cleaned up the crud, I don’t know how it never skipped.

How many of you have visible abdominal muscles at this point?
it depends, I sometimes do, sometimes dont.

If I had a really solid core workout in the last 12 hours, they are quite visible. Also depends on water content I feel.

If I was an athlete or someone obsessed over body fat %, with a VERY dialed in and planned diet, Im sure they'd be visible 100% of the time and I'd never wear a shirt.

Congratulations. You may have the worst chainring I've ever seen. You probably couldn't have got away with that level of wear at the rear but the front had enough links in contact to get the job done. How many km? Did it see lube during its life?

Sorry, I meant to put this in the do you cycle thread. oy.
I am guessing it has 5,000km, it was 3 seasons not 2. I always lubed it and wonder if that attracted more sand/salt. I have studded tires and ride whenever snow isn't deep or slush. The local bike shop guy says he never lubes his chain in the winter and keeps its orange hue. I might try that next season. I have a new chain and rear mech to put on; maybe.

when i first started 6ish years ago i could only do one way on one day
took me 2 months to be able to do the full commute in one shot, twice a week

yeah, not gonna happen

Did some solid core work yesterday and a bit of weights in between as well

Got in some intense core workout today

Yes, still cranking sets out in the basement....unfortunately the MIL decided to make delicious bagels. Effing hell...

My self control is non-existent...

Squeezed in a little 4KM run today between clients and classes… sometimes you just have you take what you can get.
