Brake pads for track and racing ? whats da shizzzle? What pads do you like best and why?

Vesrah SRJL. Rode someones track bike with these at TMP last year for a session and was very impressed. Just in the process of installing them
on my bike.

I liked the performance friction pads that came on my bike but I have no idea what compund they were. I've just switched to ferrodo race compund and they seem pretty good but I only have 25 lap or so experience with them and I changed my rotors so your results may vary.

OEM here too.

I have a set of Vesrah in the package, but am waiting for the OEM's to wear out before I try the new ones.

I ran the Ferodo XRAC pads for the firs time yesterday. I'm very impressed.

Shhhhhh those were my secret for how i was managing to out brake the 600's last round.

Any other suggestions on pads other than Ferodos?
What's the difference between the XRAC and the sintered ones?

I switched from oem to ebc HH on my 09 zx6r.... Love them, but they grip a lot more... Stops faster, but grabbing a handful of brake will cause an eye opening experience lol.

Installed my Vesrahs a couple rounds ago.
Unbelievable. One finger, lifting rear wheel, from 140+ mph.

I use Ferodo CP211s. You have to get and keep them hot, but when they are, they work well and aren't that harsh on rotors. XRACs are also good but I've found that they give up the ghost on really hard repeated braking, whereas the CP211s won't.

I've also used the Vesrah SRJL8 with good effect.

But I'm using stock Suzuki/Tokico calipers which I'm learning have their own set of issues.

Do you support any local shops?
ROFL! I buy tons from Bluestreak, and a bit from Competition Cycle.

If the local shop doesn't have a website where I can order online, I usually shop elsewhere first. Once I find the best deal online I e-mail the shop and see if they can match it. If they don't respond in an hour or two, or can't match the price, I order elsewhere.

Just put Ferodos on the endurance bike 2 rounds ago.....Their initial bite is soft, but once they heat up they have lots of power and are easy to control, but require alot more effort than the Vesrahs that I love so much on my R6.
The brakes are the next order of business on the CBR for sure.

So instead of picking up the phone and calling a shop you give them 1-2hrs to respond to an email or they loose your buisness and that's only if you can't find the product elsewhere first? ROFL!.....

This year I went from OEM to EBC HH on my SV650. The EBC's have better bite once their warmed up, but overall braking power seems about the same or maybe slightly better than OEM. Possibly not worth the extra $'s. I've used Ferodo's and Carbone Lorraine in the past (I don't remember the model for either, so this is probably useless). The Ferodo's seemed pretty good, but a bit soft on initial bite (which sometimes is nice). The Carbone Lorraine's were phenomenal, but very expensive. Great initial bite, but smooth, and super strong hard braking.

From what I've read on this thread I'm willing to try some Versah's next time.
