Someone's already beat you to it. The head of York's Philosophy faculty/department, Michael Gilbert is a crossdresser and even started a movement. He's actually a really interesting dude & a pretty big contributor to international argumentation theory.

He walks around York as a woman (his alter-ego's named "Miqqi Alicia" sometimes lol. It all sounds like one big successful troll, but he's perfectly straight (or so he claims). He just gets some sort of release from dressing up like a woman. Only in Toronto can you hold tenure like that and get away with an extremely "abnormal" personal life.

I wonder if this is the same dude I used to have classes with... how long's it take to become head of a faculty these days? ****, I think I'm getting old.

I remember there was a serial rapist at York when I was a student there. All the girls were really freaked about it and the school had to lock off the rape tunnel (is that thing still around?). The guy was eventually caught.

Lol ... the context: York U has a lot of buildings on campus, obviously. What's not obvious is how a lot of them are connected underground, though the lower levels of some buildings were barely used for anything. It's been years since I've been down there so I can't speak for how it is now.

There's one underground passage in particular that was literally a long tunnel that connects the north-east side of campus to somewhere more central... can't remember where now, probably the student centre. It was painted white inside and you couldn't see from one end to the other because the tunnel was like an underground hill where the ground slopes up to a peak and then down. I used to take it when it was crappy weather but remember thinking I'd be nervous if I were female.
