Defense against York U rapists

Enough already with the legality of the weapon a woman uses to defend herself. They should all be armed and dangerous up at York. They'll only be "caught" with the illegal weapon if the situation occurs. I'd love to see to "Rapist v. Pepper Sprayer" play out in the media if it ever went down. Crown would look like fools coming down on a 19 year old student who protected herself.

The best way to do it is to buy a cheap stack on gun cabinet and the add on ammo cabinet and bolt them together to make one unit for two storage areas with two separate keys. When they go on sale they are $99 and $49 at Canadian tire. The keys can be on the same ring. Keep the keys in a separate room and you are 100% legal. Technically you can keep ammo with a firearm if it is locked up but it's better to separate them by one lvl of security.

Like this but without the firearms in the top safe......

The Stack-on safes also have a series of holes in the back, through which they can be bolted into walls/studs. Makes it one hell of a lot more difficult to walk away with the whole thing and I would recommend doing it.

I got something like those Crappy Tire Stack On 16 gun safes, but from Costco. Regular price is still cheaper than the CT sale price ($349 as oppposed to $399). And yes, you can store the loaded mag right next to the pistol (the wording of the law is "together with or separate from the ammunition" lol).

The image is of a Stack On unit, not Cosco

Got pre-drilled holes in the back and on the bottom so you can choose how you bolt it in order to avoid b.s. criminal charges (too many uninformed cops will wanna charge you with improper storage for not boltind down the safe even though the law doesn't require it). I don't like the electronic keypad, but I might replace it with a biometric lock for faster opening.

Looks like they fixed the regs. It used to specify that for non restricted weapons, but didn't say anything for restricted weapons.

If they did, would have been a while back.. At least 4-5 years.

I've been looking for a Biometric Wall Safe but the only one I could find requires bolting to the wall. How do y'all store them if you live in a condo?

You can't use Raid..it won't spray more than like a foot at best and disperses easily. Bear spray can shoot like up to 10 feet and sticks. It's pretty bulky though.

Pack a sausage into your panties. When they go down they will run away seeing its shape poking out.

If you're looking at something with a fingerprint lock, don't do it. 90% of those are complete garbage and are defeatable with a few minutes of work.

All the under $1K safes are easy to break into though. My stack ons would pop under a normal sized crowbar, FStarts safe can be drilled in one spot and opens like (insert the name you know I'm thinking of)'s legs after one beer. It's good to have more than a soft case and as mentioned, bolted to the wall to stop a quick carry to CYA with the law. Too much money involved in actual security. I know you can open the little biometrics with a screwdriver and a hammer.

......from, um, youtube......

:)

I don't have any illusions over it being safe from theft. More about CYA with the law while not having to open 2 cabinets in order to go to the range. Why else would a law-abiding Canadian want to have guns and ammo in the same cabinet or safe?

Exactly. Wouldn't dare try protecting myself or possibly scaring my attacker. That will just get you arrested and labeled as an Ian whatshisface baby eating commie :)

Can of the wasp spay that shoots a few feet.

nothing a little mace won't solve

Ian Thomson? The monster that ran out of his den, slapped the clip into his Glock AK-47 assault rifle, started brandishing it and attempted to murder those poor lads with troubled past, thus scarring them for life, instead of givin' each and every one of them a nice warm hug?! That monster should be burned at the stake for even owning those evil, baby-killing weapons of mass destruction

His biggest mistake seems to have been in not aiming at his attackers.

Or a great feat of human compassion and self-control. Somewhere between the two :D
