December show

When I first got there I thought I was in the wrong place but I realized motorcycle people dress funny too so I kept walking. 10 mins later I was in the motorcycle show

let me tell you, done wrong, it is disastrous... but done right

Story #1
I have a nephew who met his now wife (an American) through an on-line fan
sight. Early in their courtship they were looking at photos from a comic-con
that she had attended. He mentioned that he had been at that same event. She
showed him a photo of herself standing in line to get an autograph from one of
the Archie illustrators and there was my nephew in the same line behind her.
Small world eh?
Well, they went to another event after they were engaged and the same
illustrator was there signing autographs. They told him the story and showed him
the photo and as a wedding present he agreed to create their wedding program
as an illustrated comic. It was fantastic, about eight pages long. Looked like a
real comic book. All the characters were members of the wedding party or
family.

Story #2
Many years ago I road my RC30 up to Oshawa to meet my oldest brother at a
cruise night. An acquaintance of ours happened to have stop at the same plaza
for a quick bite. He first saw and started speaking to my brother. When I walked
over to say high the first words out of his mouth were, “Why are you dressed up
like a clown, was there a parade? He wasn’t joking either. When I explained that
I was wearing my riding leathers he laughed long and hard asking, “You actually
go out in public looking like that, on purpose?” He just didn’t get it.
I thought I was rather dashing in my matching two tone blue, white with red
full protection along side my two tone blue white and red Honda.

Now if you want to see how some attendees dress for such conventions check
out this guys Flicker pages, all 170+ of ‘em.

They’re not all fan images, there are some very artful shots and some
action ones too. I’m not sure but I think he collects these photos from friends.

Seems like the comic con has hotter models than the motorcycle show

Sent from my phone using my paws

Couldn't get to a good spot :(
Theres a saying that goes
"If you really want something you find a way, otherwise you find excuses"

:p
Yeah the price of the show somewhat turned me off...spent a lazy day on sunday instead. Shame on me. I wanted to try out the cb500's

$160 a month isnt bad for a younger guy on a litre bike?
Mines about $100 a month.
They were taking deposits on them last couple months to get one allotted.

$100-$150 a month??? where the f do you guys live? Iqaluit? They quoted me $3500 for a new ninja 250..

$3500? Are you a convicted dangerous driver?

Seems like either sid did not shop around or he is young and a new rider. $3500 is what they wanted for a cbr125 on my first year at 19 (I didn't ride that year)

Yeah, that's not out of line with what I hear for a new rider. I'm paying under $1000.00 a year for a ER-6n, for full coverage, and will likely be paying under $800.00 a year for same when I switch carriers to the same one as my car, next Spring.

When I started with a 250 I was paying $700. So unless he's only 16 or lives in a county jail or something I don't know why else he would get quoted for a ridiculous amount.

Could have said the same because when I started on a 250, it cost me $383.00 for full coverage. Times change.

$1050/yr for an 08 CBR 1kRR, but >25 and clean record w/ SF, so it's inline.

Thank you for all the responses. I did not have a chance to go hence LOOKING FORWARD TO THE JANUARY SHOW. See you there.

As I was leaving the parking I saw some asians dressed up as what I can only assume was a robot of some sort. s/he was head to toe in boxes. Me and the bf just shook our heads.

??? I am a bit curious why you point out the fact they are 'Asians'... Is it because it is typical for Asians to wear weird clothes and acting all stupid?

Or is it rare to see an Asian wear weird stuffs and act like an idiot with boxes and you had to point out such rare occurrences and show your disgust by 'shaking your head'....
