December show

Just came back from the show and thought it was pretty meh. I really wanted to check out the new 636 but Kawi was absent. I'm glad I got to check out a few other bikes though. The new 600RR still doesn't wow me but is less ugly in person. Sat on the CBR500R and NC700 which I thought was an interesting bike (I'd love to have that tank storage space!). Also sat on the FZ8, Diavel and S1000RR for the first time. Didn't see any great deals on gear so I just walked out with a freebie BMW poster.

636 is at the Inside Motorcycles booth...

My wife and I attended yet another fun December Motorcycle show. We bought a charger for our cell phones that connects to the tender lead, discussed trips with various vendors and checked out some really cool bikes. It was quite a social event as we ran into lots of friends we rode with this past summer.

This one caught my eye.

Went today. Had a few hours to tell lies and start rumours with friends during the drive, met Wingboy at the Pro6 booth, chatted with the folks from Amarok (very interesting project), renewed my RACE license & plate number, bought 10 track days from Pro6 (see you at Mosport and merry xmas to me). Hauled my chassis onto a few bikes... RSV4, Tuono, Dorsoduro, GSX-R 750, Tiger 1050, Gladius, RC8R, a few dirtybikes... had a beer and listened to the CSBK people... watched Szoke rip around on a trials bike... checked out a few other things. Met a few GTAMmers there like CruznGrl, Aliki and others.

IMHO it was time and money well spent. And as usual we spent some time sucking back tex mex, a few beer and ogling the hired help at Lone Star on the way back. Include a stop into the GP / Royal shops and you have the motorcycle-show trifecta.

Only question I left with ... was that a TZ or a TZ-R in the VRRA display?

I went today. It was my first show and I spent a few hours browsing and sitting on bikes. I'm glad it wasn't a mob, because I would have walked past the bikes I really wanted to try. I tried out a few. The food court was busy...I shared my table with one of the lovelies from the Ducati booth. I bought tickets on the Harley Davidson and entered as many draws as I saw.

I got a great pair of leather gloves for 14.99.
The $2.80 sodas were a bit much...but I was thirsty!
I met Paul (forum owner) at his booth...nice guy.
It was a good day into the city.

PS...There are some great pics on the FB page for The Toronto Motorcycle Show if you're on FB.

The 675 is pretty.... but the only bikes at the show I'd spend money on were the HP4 and the Tuono v4. Although if the Brutale 1090R was a bit easier to get support for... that is a nice bike. Best looking bike IMHO: RC8R.

I was really surprised to see KTM Duke 690, considering it was announced only few days ago that it would imported into NA. I surprisingly liked Hyperstrada's looks and the broad potential of usage. Third bike i digged was 2013 Triumph STR.

That blue one at the show was sold to some kid I would guess was 22 years old. Proudly hung out the BMW display advertising the fact that this was his actual bike. Apparently they are all sold out and Budd's bmw had the last one something or other?

I asked him if he was a racer, or hard core rider. Nope, he just moved on from his Gixxer 750 and wanted this. Works at State Farm and claims insurance on it is only $160 a month. Yeah, ok bud.

Whats that saying about a fool and his money?

lol, i didnt even recognize him as he was so clean cut and baby faced, until the announcer mentioned his name.

not to take away from his talent as a racer, but on the show he did, man, did he appear nervous and made several mistakes. the other guy was top notch and aced every segment.

Cool guy though, and good on him for accepting a new riding challenge.

Boooooring. As usual I suppose just gets worse every year. Best looking bikes - HP4, white 1199, and a used 2012 red CBR1000RR. Disappointed with the new BMW R1200GS in person, the black previous generation Adventurer next to it looked much better.

With Kawi being a no-show I can't say I blame them.

Of course, this is solely my opinion.

i went today but it was my first bike show so i aint complaining and i cant complain because i have nothing to compare it to

$160 a month isnt bad for a younger guy on a litre bike?
Mines about $100 a month.
They were taking deposits on them last couple months to get one allotted.

Show was pretty decent

Suzuki of new market had good deals on helmets, 40% off but nothing my size.

Signed up for a pro6 mosport track day and got suckered in to the $30 first time at mosport fee.

Probably the best 30 bucks you can spend, someone will show you the lines and easy you into the track.
It saved me way more than 30 bucks in rubber and time trying to figure it out on my own

Sat on the Duke 690 too. Never saw one before but seems pretty sweet. Would live to take it for a spin. I'd consider getting something like this one day.

Saw friends I haven't seen since summer, had fun, totally worth $16 for that (though my promised free ticket didn't show up which would have been better. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE!!!)

I was just kidding around, she explained it to me, and sounds pretty neat for an intro to that track. $30 well spent
