It's a sucker punch day. Warm but theres something wicked on the way.

It was 18 on the way over but look at this

24-Hour Precipitation Outlook

* 1-3 mm of rain from Tuesday Afternoon to Wednesday Afternoon.
* close to 1 cm of snow from Tuesday Afternoon to Wednesday Afternoon.

gotta be a very nasty front - don't get caught in it.

The weathernetork says "a few flurries" and less than 1 cm of snow from Tuesday Afternoon to Wednesday Afternoon. It only shows an indication of flurries in the hourly forecast between 7 to 10 tomorrow morning.

I guess that's a nasty and horrible storm front to some people. Still, on a motorcycle that will become a game of how many times you slid on your back if the roads become snow covered with underlying ice.
To add some perspective I remember many times (when doing bike escorts, with sidecars mounted) riding in either monster snowfalls or at -25 C in Jan/Feb. That was entertaining.

Fun on the right bike - not so much fun with road tires. But the nasty is a temp drop like that usually means high winds
Warm and wet no problem. Even cool and wet no problem.
Cold wet windy and an ice threat.....I'll stay out of it.
Bike sure purred with fresh synthetic in it.

quite a few in uni.....most hilarious over December break just before New Years.
Buddy on the back had just got a lovely new briefcase and we came up over the top of a hill and there was the ice....
So I'm laying on my back holding the handlebars up amid the usual sparks and I see buddy also sliding on his back with that spanking new briefcase straight up in the air....killed myself laughing.

Different times.

According to the weather network, it'll stay "warm" till later this evening so I rode to work.

I don't mind riding in below freezing weather, I have a heated liner and grips, but I stay off the roads if it it's around the freezing mark and wet.

You can see the front here and it is staying north

Turn on the animation - quite the little freight train of rain moving through.
Might go back up to the Forks later- I'm coffeed out at the moment. Sure is warm - 15 on the way back from RaceTech

Toronto breaks weather record as thermometer hits 16 C
Published on Tuesday December 04, 2012

Sometimes the only reminder that it’s December in Toronto is the Christmas decorations.

Temperatures hit 16 C on Tuesday, squeaking past Toronto’s 1998 record for today of 15.9 C.

The average daily high for Dec. 4 is 3 C.

the rain has stopped downtown, patchy cloud cover. I have an event to attend, so I'll be leaving later than usual, but it looks like even if it's still wet, it won't be too cold.

wanna bet...look at that cold front edge

Yesterday wasn't too bad. (Rain gear was a good investment)

I ended up riding to school today at 7:20AM because there was no snow in sight and it was supposed to snow overnight... Hopefully I don't get caught on the way back, but the forecast says no snow (@ York) so I'm not too worried.

im saving this thread for when you guys wanna sell you "mint" bikes hahahah
I'm riding a 1999 CBR that's still in great shape. If you keep them cleaned and maintained, they're still gonna last.
I promise I'll only try to sell it as "near-mint" ;)
