Daily sports car?

Yes...I really wish that the WRX still came in hatchback form...my favourite style. But I'd have to go back a bunch of years, and these cars typically don't lead an easy life. So I settled on the sedan. Car goes great. Transmission is good. Pulls hard, and sounds great. But my wife asks me to take her car in the mornings if I need to so I don't wake up the kids! (and it's stock). Personally I didn't think it's that loud but when I let my cousin drive it...I was rather surprised.
You made a good choice. A friend of mine had a Civic Type R and then got a WRX, same colour as yours, he tuned it, lowered it, and put white rims. Looked good.

The true hatchback market isn't that good here.
Civic Type R - No, looks like a kid drew spoilers all over it, not subtle at all. Looks more like a coupe than a hatchback
Veloster N - No pedigree, and fisher price interior
Focus RS - Rides like a rock, engine problems, fisher price interior, front wheel biased, not proper AWD
Mini Cooper - didn't even look, between reliability issues and a dated awkward interior design, isn't for me
Golf R - Too broke for that lol

Mazda 3 GT - I liked this a lot, and with AWD and the new Turbo, I had one for a week, it's amazing. Has everything from a heads-up display to heated steering wheel, and more reliable than the Honda. I like the 2019+ design, I'm just not sure it will be a classic, or age well

GSW 4mo IS38 for R performance on GTI budget.

My most surprising part....I'm averaging 8-9l/100km in mixed driving. Went up to the cottage on the weekend and got stuck behind a snow plow for f$@# too long up highway 10...the computer said 6.8l/100km for the round trip. Mind you that was stupidly slow for the most part because of plows, snow, and back roads but overall I'm impressed with the mileage.

As much as I love wagons, the Golf one looks odd to me, I like the Audi/BMW ones much better. I also don't need that much space, I'm single, and I never carry passengers. If I need space, I take my dad's F-150.

The wagon also doesn't come with as nice seats or finishes as a GTI/R. The MK7.5 Golf GTIs come with a LSD and the 7 speed DSG/larger brakes from the Golf R, which make a huge difference.

Didn't I say STI hatch on the short list? Still love looking at them

Yup love the STI. Wanted one, but when I looked more into it...everything is just so much more expensive. And the WRX (as some on this forum pointed out) is already too much for the street...the STI even more so. But it looks sweet. Also, no hatch in the current lineup though.

mmm. RS6. Too many shekels though. Starts at 120K.

Congrats on the GTI! Great cars, really fun to drive. If you want to keep warranty, do not flash the ECU.

I still can't deal with that grille. Even stupider looking with the assymetrical drivers aid sensor.

It looks ok on a black car, at night, without a lot of light around.

Really fantastic looking car from all the other angles, except the front.

So nice! Price, not so much... A lot of pro drivers in F1 and WRC have wagons as their daily cars, esp RS6's in EU. Not sure why in NA people don't like them as much.

Thanks! I won't be touching anything to affect the warranty anytime soon, for fun I have motorcycles, and as is, the GTI feels just fine to me, I prefer a refined ride vs a overdone one
