Current Gas Prices - No one else concerned??

I remember paying 70cents + in late 1990's in Hamilton and 40cents + in Kenora in early 1980's. Maybe I remember that because it caught my attention because of spike. Bottom line, ignore me.

Gas went up to mid/hgh 60 cent level in 1999, i remember becasue I had a Bronco and I about died the first time I had to fill the 110L tank at this level, now I can fill my 60L tank for about the same $ :(

they are saying that it is cutrrently peaking, aside from the ongoing pressure of foreign needs, the instability in Ukraine is the main factor we are at a high point.

Does this suck? absolutely, just hope the current actions don't get hotter

Peaking? Good thing I'm in the Temporary Domestic Worker program. The cost of driving to work would break me.

A bit narrow minded don't you think?

.

I think the price of gas here equals what I was paying for petrol in England back in 1987, I guess I'm more aware that we have it better than some other countries.

I
OR, we could get in an up rage over the fact that its illegal to build a vehicle powered by magnets, which essentially would never need fuel. We could start there. All these things Tesla invented, all suppressed to make people rich, and the poor completely broke :(

Its not illegal...its impossible to break the laws of thermodynamics. If you think i am wrong build a small scale concept and collect your nobel prizes

Except you can't cross Canada in one hour like Old Blighty.

Jokes on you guys i have dividend paying stocks in Oil and Gas.

Riiiight... like your dividends offset all costs of higher energy prices.

Did not forget. Kind of ironic Canada going down in flames.

Whole world is going down in flames. It was cushy for a while here, but let's not kid ourselves, in world's history our standard of living is an anomaly.

I agree. Watch Game of Thrones for the future state of Earth. Maybe without the dragons.

the world has been going downhill for every generation ever. Yet there is always a net increase in standard of living in the long run.

And yet satisfaction and happiness hasn't kept pace. Every technology, read convenience, seems to have a downside. We haven't seen the full impact yet but there's a buzz in the air, for sure.

Thinking about starving kids in Africa doesn't make me any less hungry when I've skipped breakfast and lunch.

My concern is the lack of acknowledgement and response from our government and general awareness of the consumer community. How high does it really have to go before people stand up and say something?

I can care less what the Queen of England thinks about UK prices.

Rich don't care cause, well..... they are rich. Poor can't do anything because they are sheep. Rinse and repeat until some rich individual gets greedy enough to take down another, then stuff happens.

I haven't really seen anyone complain (in a major way) about the current state of prices at the gas pumps. Currently 139.9c per litre, and it's not even summer yet... which means demand is up and so are the prices. What happened to all the anger and rage and "let's boycott Petro on so-and-so-day" chain emails -- 2008??

145.6c per litre in the Maritimes.

The cost of commuting and living is getting a bit out of hand. I can only imagine how the majority of people earning minimum wage are getting by.

ch.gaschart

People get used to it like everything else. Thats why they gradually do it, little by little, drop it 1.7 cents, raise 2.3, rinse and repeat...

If you guys are upset about filling up your bikes for $20 or you cars for 80$ don't feel too bad. I filled up yesterday for $1693.87...

The better question should be why are we paying such ridiculous tax rates on fuel?
