Current Gas Prices - No one else concerned??

I haven't really seen anyone complain (in a major way) about the current state of prices at the gas pumps. Currently 139.9c per litre, and it's not even summer yet... which means demand is up and so are the prices. What happened to all the anger and rage and "let's boycott Petro on so-and-so-day" chain emails -- 2008??

145.6c per litre in the Maritimes.

The cost of commuting and living is getting a bit out of hand. I can only imagine how the majority of people earning minimum wage are getting by.

P.s, 10 years ago on April 26 2004, gas price was 72.8 cents.

Sheeples... sheeples everywhere. Missing planes and Ukraines are definitely more important than homeland issues that affect your wallet.

Cost me $20.00 to fill the bike up yesterday. Not a big deal, i'll start worrying when it costs me $40.

When I started driving 15 years ago, gas when in the 40cent/l range.

The developing world got the taste of oil and their craving will only get stronger.

Oil isn't the only resource that is going up in price. With the current rate of population increase things might get worse.

Let's be childfree, it's definitely worth it.

A bit narrow minded don't you think?

Increased gas prices have a trickle down effect on most consumer goods... they just remain hidden unlike airline fuel surcharges (which are pre-negotiated and not affected by daily increases)

Yes, exactly. With the rapidly expanding middleclass in China and India, the demand for Oil is only going to get higher and supply is not growing at the same rate. I don't see any reason why the executives would continue to supply stagnant demand (in relation to) here when they can get more for their money there...

40 cents/L in 1999? I'm not even gonna look that up. Is wrong.

As far as gas prices presently, yes, always a concern. Fuel prices vary wildly the world over. We're supposed to take it out of the ground and ship it unrefined (no Canadian jobs) to somewhere else? And then our prices are what they are because supply/demand? I wonder what the public outcry would be like if we did that with water?

I will bet my bike on I was paying under 50 cents/L in Barrie 15 years ago.
$5 would get me 1/4 tank in my cavalier lol.

It was in the 30~40c mark in the 90's in KW. I remember it hitting 50c in the late 90`s I think

I don't really understand what we are supposed to do. I know Petro Can came around at a huge expense to the tax payers in the 70's and the reasoning was "when prices get super high, Canada will have its own gas station and it will not reflect the prices" PHHH yeah right.

Other then that, i guess we could all stop riding and driving :S

OR, we could get in an up rage over the fact that its illegal to build a vehicle powered by magnets, which essentially would never need fuel. We could start there. All these things Tesla invented, all suppressed to make people rich, and the poor completely broke :(

I remember paying 70cents + in late 1990's in Hamilton and 40cents + in Kenora in early 1980's. Maybe I remember that because it caught my attention because of spike. Bottom line, ignore me.

they are saying that it is currently peaking, aside from the ongoing pressure of foreign needs, the instability in Ukraine is the main factor we are at a high point.

Does this suck? absolutely, just hope the current actions don't get hotter
