Craft Beer: What are you drinking now??

Hanalei Island ipa. A Hawaiian beer brewed with passion fruit, orange and guava. Nice summer brew served ice cold! Subtle fruit flavours, nicely done.

Really liking this, as well as Big Wave Golden Ale from the same company. Very refreshing

I haven't seen the other one but I’d definitely try it. There’s some really nice summer brews about this year. My go to was always a nice cold Weiss beer or a wit beer with a slice of lemon or orange but these well crafted fruit brews can be great.

Speaking of Weiss beer...had a nice Berliner Weisse from Refined Fool in Sarnia called “Canatara!” Very tasty and refreshing. Liking the stuff coming from Lambton County these days.

For Ciders, my go-to would be pretty much anything from West Avenue just off highway 6 (by the African Lion Safari).

If I can’t get West Avenue, Liberty Village is great (very dry, great flavour and low calories), followed VERY closely by Brickworks Batch 1904.

Second the recommendation of West Avenue!
Also, Howell Road Cider is located at Brantview Farms, an apple orchard between Cambridge and St George.
They make some good stuff...they have a hopped cider that is really good.

Chronicle Brewing Star Destroyer "Emperial" Stout.
8.5% notes of vanilla, espresso and lactose.
Creamy mouthfeel and very bitter. Like dark chocolate.

555 Brewing "Gender Fluid" strawberry IPA.
Very subtle strawberry aroma, but no taste.
Generic hazy ipa.
LOTS of floaties a la a Sparklepuff.

Love the name of the stout.
Just started watching the Star Wars movies with my daughter.

Willibald Farm Brewing’s Milkhouse - a double vanilla and lactose IPA.
Really has the milkshake vibe going on...smooth and creamy. One of the better examples of this style that I never really understood...until now.

Wychwood Ginger Beard alcoholic ginger beer.

Dont....it’s dangerous....like delicious pop but at 4.2% alcohol.

I may have to go get some more bottles. Nice summer drink.

2 sparklepuffs.
0 floaties in both cans.
Still amazed how good this beer is, and how unboozy it is for 10.2%

Stonehooker on Lakeshore in Mississauga has several nice IPA .

Stonehooker on Lakeshore in Mississauga has several nice IPA .

Someone else on this thread was saying their stuff is good.
Looking at their website, they have some nice styles that a lot of breweries these days seem to ignore. Best Bitters and Witbiers etc.
I’m so done with the haze for daze IPAs. I find myself craving a nice traditional English-style IPA. Even the west coast style versions are nice.

Anyone been to Neustadt recently?
They’ve always stayed true to their English-style brews and have been doing it for a long time.

Cheers

There’s a brewery in Wellington in PEC that does an ESB (extra special bitter) that’s a decent take on a british ale. Forgot the name of the brewery but there’s basically only one in town.

I believe you're thinking of Midtown Brewing.
I was there a couple weeks back.

It was a nice example of the style.

The only brewery I have sampled from Prince Edward County is one of the originals...Barley Days. That was many years ago - don;t recall being blown away by their stuff - but again long time ago.

No updates for a while in here, but I WILL have a few later on...

I'll be hitting up Godspeed today for the Dieu Du Ciel tap takeover!

@miggs - looking forward to it - love “God in his heaven” beers!

Back from the tap takeover!

Started off with the Peche classic.
I always forget just how phenomenal this beer is...

Then had the bourbon barrel aged version.
It was good, but the aging didn't really add anything other than an overpowering boozy flavor.

Then had the cassis variant.
A little too sweet for my tastes...

Then had the Sidama coffee variant.
Nice notes of chocolate and espresso.

Then moved to the Nanatsu 2019 collaboration w/Godspeed.
Was not a fan. Slightly too astringent and acidic for my tatses...

Then to the Nanatsu 2020.
No discernible difference from the 2019.

Then finished with the Dieu Du Ciel Mango.
This was very tasty.
Slightly sour, with the mango shining through.

Overall a very good day, and we did get a little preferential service since my buddy is very close with Luc the owner/brewer at GodSpeed. : )

I’m heading off to visit the Trou du Diable brewery in Shawinigan soon hopefully. They have some interesting looking beers and are highly regarded.

Super envious.
The “Devil’s Hole” make some fantastic beer.
Enjoy and can’t wait to hear what you tried!

Cheers
Rob
