COVID vaccine ‘passport’

I wonder about the countries that have the guts to stick to the protocols. I would like to visit relatives in New Zealand. Because they have an almost non existent spread I can see them not backing down, at least not at the moment.

As the rest of the world recovers and tries to be more like the good old days of 2019 will the trade and tourism pressure make them back down? Tourism losses vs healthcare costs?

You want to go for lockdowns every few weeks . We cannot sustain and economy like that . These lockdown are failure . Yet we keep going down that path.

Just booked me mom (73 years old) for the covid 19 vaccine at the UTM (University of Toronto Misssissauga Campus) for April 2nd.
Mississauga Hospital near the Sherway Mall has vaccine shots for 70 plus. Brampton has William Olser location(s).
You just need your health card number!

My father in law had his a week ago Thursday, my brother this past Thursday, two of my sisters are going Monday, my other sister on April 1 and my sister in law hopefully soon (she's 69)...

I heard the Ontario Public School Board Association as well as the TDSB wrote letters to Lecce asking to have teachers vaccinated over the April break...as it stands, we are towards the end of the list for stage 2, which makes no sense if they want to keep schools open (even though I doubt we'll be going back to in class after the break, not with the way numbers are)...

I think they have given up on in person schooling after April break. If you start from that position, leaving teachers with the hoard for now makes sense as they should be done well before September.

The thing is they will screw the teachers by not telling them about this until the day before. It'll be Thursday before Good Friday when they announce that the week after that school is closed....or the Friday before the April break.

Agree. The "come out to our press conference tomorrow where we will announce when our next press conference is" is pretty annoying from Douggie. I get that things are changing quickly but you can see the path they are following long in advance. I think it would be better to say "here is the expected path. That may change with new information" instead of constantly pretending that everything is ok until they slam the door at the 11th hour.

I have just put myself on a waiting list at the local drug store but don't have any feedback as to when. Astra Zenica

I have an appointment at Mississauga Hospital for April 10. I'm not sure what flavour.

This has me holding two spots which skews planning. I'll contact the drug store for feedback tomorrow to see if they have any idea of when they're getting doses.

Unfortunately this isn't like Canadian Tire. With CTC, if you have a part number and a store is out of stock they can do a quick look up and tell you the nearest store with inventory.

no, our “lockdowns” are...demonstrably when done properly they work.

They have been a failure so far . But go on tell me how well they work .

lockdowns do work, if done properly. Lots of countries around the world are testament to that just as Brazil and the US are testament to what happens when you just go on as normal.

Heres the irony, the Covidiots complaining about lockdowns and not following simple instructions are the ones mostly responsible for the continued lockdowns.

“We in the World Health Organization do not advocate lockdowns as the primary means of control of this virus,” Dr. David Nabarro said to The Spectator’s Andrew Neil. “The only time we believe a lockdown is justified is to buy you time to reorganize, regroup, rebalance your resources, protect your health workers who are exhausted, but by and large, we’d rather not do it.”

We had a year to reorganize. How long to you go on making the same mistake before you realize it was wrong .

That statement does not say they don’t work.

For those in east toronto, apparently they are having trouble getting arms to put shots in. They have a waiting list for 16-59 year olds they are working through. You need to get there within 30 minutes of being notified. Signup link below.

This in itself is a little crazy, most people can't even organize to get out of the house in 30mins rather than get notified and have to travel to a particular location. This doesn't seemed very organized?

What happened with the J&J vaccine? Approved by Health Canada some time ago. To date, I've heard nothing about and shipments received or even coming. What was the point of approving the vaccine if we're getting none?

Sister is ******. She's already on that standby list from a couple of weeks ago when she took my dad in for his shot, and they never called her. They're not taking anymore signups at this time. The administration of this must be a nightmare.

The administration is dumb...what’s wrong with using the emergency text message service/radio/TV/newspaper/telephone to ask people to go by birthday or by SIN number or something that everyone has.

Found out my aunt here just had her first shot. Waiting 3-4 months for shot #2. She feels good and her kids are all happy she got it.
first one I know of here that’s gotten it.
