Spain extends it's lockdown until April 11th. So that will be almost a month, my buddy over there is going stir crazy.
We dont have much cheap wine in the house. Lockdown means the good stuff comes out :) Its not all bad.

He's alone in his apartment, most of the building is usually full of summer vacationers. Says he hasn't seen one single person today.

I still think this may drive up the price of houses in toronto. Some people will realize condo life in an emergency is a hell they do not want to experience again. This time it's a pandemic, but power outages, broken pumps and fires can just as easily make you regret your choices in life.

Yep I’m counting down the days until I can open my pool, I figure In about 30 days . Once that is open I don’t care how long the lockdown goes for.

It all depends what you want your gas bill to be. I figure ~$1/1 degree F to heat up our pool. You can have a pool party in october if you want, it will just cost $20.

You should see who Arnold is hanging out with

And some people are just downright clueless.
Yup, you see them all the time posting stuff on Facebook, the latest is clueless post is about making facemasks from paper towels.
It won't do anything for you, because it can't filter out.

I've opened mine as early as the second week of April before, but not usually until the first weekend in May. I have gas and solar heating so if $$ don't matter the gas will do the job quickly. KEEPING it warm is harder at that point versus heating it as the deltaT between outside ambient and the pool make it a struggle.

But if we're all locked down....well... YOLO.

French authorities report a contraindication with NSAID drugs (aspirin, ibuprofen) - the theory is that the anti-inflammatory effects result in more complications when you have COVID-19.

...

Your immune system relies upon the fever to increase it's ability to fight the infection. Reducing the fever slows your defenses and may let the virus persist if not proliferate:

Several problems with your statement:

- This has been debunked.
- Too high of a fever for too long can also severely injure or even kill you on it's own, so it needs to be controlled.
- Acetaminophen (IE, Tylenol) lowers fever far more effectively than NSAID's.
- The counteraction of fever wasn't the reason for the original claim to not take NSAID's, it has to do with a claim that it could actually facilitate infection versus solely fighting symptoms. That was the bit that was debunked.

Consensus since then is "Take it if you need it".

Spain has started taking respirators away from anyone over 65 and giving them to younger people. Over 65 gets sedation to die less painfully.

Good luck getting the doctor to use it on you. Unless you try to use it on yourself. But who's going to intubate you?

See! Thats why I been thinking how to mcgyver my own ventilator.

I heard on the radio today that there is a group of Engineers that got together on FB and came up with a way to make your own ventilator from household items.

I have not tried to find the group.
