I see a major Bank bank is closing (most) its physical branch locations now.
Huh really which one?
I wonder if getting cash will become short on supply. But I guess they will still top up bank machines. ?‍♂️

I sold a bike so had a bit of cash kicking around but I don’t think it’s going to be an issue to get money. I did take my Dad $1000 just to have on hand in case. Most stores don’t want cash right now so it may not be that useful after all.

My dad is almost 70, my sister lives with him. For now i haven't visited and won't. Between the both of us we buy everything he needs. He's dead set on walking the dogs twice a day in the creek, nothing we can say to him will dissuade that. Sister visits her partner outside the house and goes through a sanitization regimen before and after entering the house.

I dunno man, not worth the risk until things calm down, imo.

Go visit your dad. Make arrangements to meet him outside the house while he walks the dog. Keep a safe distance and cherish that opportunity to spend “safe” time with him.

All banks are doing this, closing branches where there is another branch within a reasonable drive and shortening hours. They are keeping ATMs in service and directing customers to online and phone banking.

There is no issue with cash supply - save the hoarding for hoard toilet, Lysol wipes and rice.

I stopped buying coffee this week after i watched the worker at Mcdonalds accept cash for the person in front of me, then proceed to make my coffee with those same hands.......I left it on the counter and walked out.

Never thought twice about that for my entire life until now.

Pro tip fellow GTAMers

Cant find any lysol or the likes in your grocery store or shoppers etc??

Go to the automotive section of walmart or crappy tire......Spray Nine kills viruses.

I keep a bottle on me at all times, with a microfiber cloth soaked in it for anything I have to touch, door I have to open, or product I have to bring into my home.

saw him just before it went down, we talk every other day. :)

Thanks @Rob Star pretty sure I have some in the garage and it will be going into the truck. Didn’t think of that before.

Peel region has formally asked all non essential business to close down. Our company is based out of York but I expect same orders will be coming our way in a day or so. I’m okay with this. It’s been a weird week trying to turn away business and not really knowing what to do next, this takes some of the mystery out of things. I buy and sell for a living, generally I would buy any car anytime regardless of what is going on in the world, there was always a price I was comfortable with. I had to tell some of the guys that I deal with early in the week that I’m not buying anymore and I wanted to be fair to them by giving them a heads up. Still picked up and paid for what I had committed to prior. Never thought there would be a time we weren’t interested in buying.

Anyways since it looks like I’m not working for the near future is there anything you guys have changed in your daily life after the pandemic announcement. One thing that I decided I wanted to do early in this week and I plan on sticking with is making 3-4 phone calls a day to friends and family. Some of them its just been catching up but others aren’t feeling so great right now, the hope is with a 10-15 minute conversation reminding people we’re in this together helps them feel a little better about things.

Pets....if your pets are on specific pet food that you cannot get at a regular grocery store (ie you don't feed them the crap food) it might not be a bad idea to go get a big bag...

If they consider pet stores non-essential some things may be hard to get...

Apparently Walmart is looking for 1000s (maybe 10,000) people to fill demand.... I think short term (medium?) there will be some shifts in employment.

Big layoffs in many areas and big hiring in supply chain type jobs, then at some point a shift back.

I popped by the HWY 7 & Edgeley Walmart the other day to look for some things, besides the shelves being completely raped, the store was in complete dismay.......dirty ass floors, half the registers closed, with long lineups of idiot people not knowing how to self check out holding up the line, garbage everywhere.......brutal
