Yeah, but they only want to stay until they don't want to stay anymore, then it's their God given right to come home and drag the plague with them, which of course, they just assume they don't have.

Or they get sick, and their medical insurance (or lack thereof) isn't going to cover them because they were told to not be there in the first place...then it's a mad panic to get home for our medical system.

Then they want to rush home at their convenience, be damned anything else.

Not failsafe - you can be infected for a few days before you'll test positive, hence the quarantine thing regardless of test results.

A useful tool, sure...but if some Canadian returns home from the Covid cesspool that is Florida right now I'm not putting any faith in a quick test at the border right now as being a failsafe indication they can come mesh with us again...sit for your 14 days and make sure you're not actually sick despite not being sick enough to trigger a positive quiet yet.

the irony is that many of them may miss slots for vaccinations while they are away....imagine if future travel requires vaccinations....what a catch 22.

That’s what real leadership looks like folks.
Fack. Overpromising and under-delivering again. They are given a range and told to expect the bottom and JT's team immediately issue a press release with the largest number they can find. Pure pandering and incompetence again. I will give them credit. The ineptitude of JT and his team has been remarkably consistent

One of the neighbours voicing their views about the ongoing situation. Must be catching on. There's another sign 3 doors down from this one. It's a movement o_O

Apparently, next week in Toronto, lots of places are planning on opening in defiance of the orders. Not sure how much is bluster and how much is reality. Hopefully if they do it, they aren't morons about it (eg. wear masks, keep some space vs packing the place with maskless morons).

My kids used to complain that they had the meanest parents on the planet. They had to clean the pool, take out the garbage, cut the grass, shovel the snow, help with the dishes and household projects. Other dads hired people to do that stuff.

They learned the value of work, they learned how to be resourceful - it's paying them back in spades today.

When my daughter was in girl guides the troop went to a GG camp where you draw straws for housekeeping tasks. One princess was crying because she had to wash dishes.

Can we get a vaccine for "stupid"?

Well, admittedly, they're supposed to be self quarantining at home for the *rest* of it.

But what happened back in March and April with a lot of snowbirds rushing home and then flagrantly disregarded the quarantine requirements, well, we know how that goes...

The couple from NB, I think, went south and came down with C-19. He needed $130,000 of US style hospital care and because they had played with dates, their insurance wasn't in phase with their arrival. He ended up with a medivac flight back but she couldn't ride along because she too was positive. In an interview she said they wore masks and HARDLY went anywhere. Right,

I'd have made sure the next day learned how latrines got cleaned.

I recall the wife of Bernie Madoff being interviewed after his downfall. She was distressed that she was down to her last million dollars. Her hubby conned people out of anywhere from 18 billion to several times that. Boohoo.

Oz once again showing the world how to keep the average citizen safe and free from restrictions.

"A single case of COVID-19 at a quarantine hotel in Melbourne will force the Australian Open organizers to isolate up to 600 players, officials and support staff, just four days before the tennis championship is set to begin."

Greater Vancouver has similar per capita case count compared to the GTA. Everything's open here though. I can ski at cypress and have beer and burger in town latter. Ones thing is clear by comparison. Everyone wears a mask. Ski lines? Everyone's wearing a mask properly. occasionally people get called out on it and they comply. No whining or bitching. Costco, home depot, grocery stores everyone's wearing a mask properly. Come to think of it the only person I saw without a mask was a douche bro at princess auto. I looked in to these numbers a few weeks ago when I was having an argument with someone. I might be off now, but still, everything's open here. Wtf GTA is doing so wrong, or maybe closing closing stores and recreation does not make a difference? Dunno.

Not just Toronto, think this is going on all over Ontario. We cannot remain in lock down as a province or country. We have been lucky to remain open falling in the essential service category but so many have not and so many small businesses going under while the big guys are making record profits. We can be smart, safe AND open.

This is happening in Poland also. Government did a blanket shut down with minimal (if any) support for people in the lower ranks.
People started opening up on their own because you can’t live and no response form the govt in any heavy handed way. You can’t expect people to just sit at home while their bills keep piling. It’s not sustainable, and it’s not going to work.

I full agree with people reopening simply because it appears that this lockdown has given the thumbs up to bigger corps that can game the rules. Either shut it all down and support people, or don’t be surprised when your fake lockdowns aren’t effective.

Stores can definitely keep safe if they follow protocols, gyms...not so sure how far they can go.

As I’ve stated before it’s the areas where people are forced to work under ****** conditions and in close proximity to one another that are an issue. Amazon, Canada Post, meat factories, lower income jobs and areas.

‘Essential construction’ is also a joke. My friends are so busy with these essential renovations they can’t keep up. And all of them say the same thing....no one wears a mask, no one cares, MOL shows up all the masks come on as they get tipped off either by the boss, or the white hat walking towards the building.

And before someone asks for evidence, i don't have it. This is what I think.
