Hahaha. "I don't think everyone should be treated the same way". So exactly how would they separate the entitled wankers that went on vacation when advised not to from the other entitled wankers that went on vacation when they were advised not to? The number of people that believe that everybody else is the problem is truly astounding. You knew they were out there, but it seems to be the majority which is disappointing.

This is my morning entertainment. There's a number of "tropical vacation is a necessity" idiots about right now. I was reading a thread where one "essential worker" stated this would cost her more and she deserved a tropical holiday for her hard work. She had a tiny bit of sympathy up until she revealed she was a postal worker and not a healthcare professional or other with constant public exposure.

I have zero sympathy. If I can warm up without lounging on a hot rock, so can every other snake.

I jog in the morning at 6AM 5 to 6 days a week and have been since COVID hit due to gyms closing.

So yeah.....I have a hard time not looking down on these ppl whining about needing vacation because it's too cold lol

Yo I need a vacation to...cause...reasons that are my private and confidential health information.

These people whining about vacations are idiots. Selfish idiots. Send them out, but don’t let the govt pay for anything should something happen and keep them there for a year.

Sooo, Ontario is testing incomers at Pearson. One self centred twit was annoyed because she took a test before she left (For Plaguesville)

Refuse to take the test and have a chat with the Peel police officer who will give you a $750 souvenir of your travels.

Has any covid ticket been paid or are they just piling up in the system?

Good on douggie for getting something running now instead of jt's maybe in the future something might happen, potentially, if the stars align and I implement a policy that has any teeth and/or chance of implementation.

But do they still drag them off to the quarantine motel/facility?

If it's a $750 ticket and they can just completely ignore everything & go on, well, that's a token amount of money for lots of people.

If I let my moustache grow really long, can I count that as a first filter layer? It seems to catch a lot of stuff.

I've grown a full on bush-man "scare small children on the streets" beard this winter. An N95 would be useless for me now, even though I have a few in the garage.

When I put on my nice cloth mask my daughter made me it looks like the ladies underwear section in a 1960's Sears Catalogue however.

I woke up today to a nice surprise on both my personal & work cell phones - I have been exposed to covid!

Work was keeping it pretty hush hush but there was whispers that the guy who sits two cubes away had symptoms and got tested Thursday, so the timing makes sense. My work did their own internal contract tracing and I wasn't told to isolate since I never talked to the guy plus 2 walls in between us, but nonetheless I went and got tested tonight, and am happily working from home this week!

The covid swap goes deeeeeeep though. My nose feels pretty violated still lol

Good to see someone is using the app. It has been pretty close to useless as so few people run it and even fewer enter the code after diagnosis.

Too many people still think it "Lets the guvment track me", as they ironically complain about it on their cellphone via Facebook. But that's another story.

It seems like almost all efforts to get people to use it including getting the facts out about it (should people be willing to accept them, that's another story again) have been abandoned.

So much potential wasted.

You know the bigger piss off is this guy went on vacation to Egypt over Christmas, came home and "self isolated" for 14 days, and the 3 days in the office later hes out sick.

EDIT: I should add allegedly since I can't be 100% sure, but I'm pretty damn sure.

Covid tickets are bylaw infractions for the most part. Municipalities can pin them to your property tax. Won't get everyone, but at least some can't run.

Well at least the daily new cases is heading down. I guess the holiday(s) spike is over with and with winter and isolation things are getting closer to how it was at the end of fall. Maybe a few more weeks and things can sorta start to open up again?

Also closing in on a year of this thread...?

And lets hope the ground hog has good news for tomorrow (y) ?️

Chinese New Year, Valentine's Day, Family Day, St. Patrick's Day, Mother's Day

When does that kick in? There's a rush to get back to beat the deadline.

IMO the quarantine fee should be charged on departure and enough for 14 days. If Covid goes away you get it back.

When letting one's hair / beard grow there is the in between stage where you look like a bum that can't be bothered with appearance. Then it looks like you're growing a beard or a new long hairstyle. That is followed by a lost cost fallacy variant. You've invested a lot of time growing something you don't really want and have no use for but you feel bad about cutting it off just in case you might be onto something.

BTW if you're going to make a cloth mask out of a brassiere only use the left cup. You wouldn't want to look like a right tit.

My understanding is this;
  1. Mandatory test at the airport, $750 fine minimum. If a refusal contravenes the health orders it’s a jailable offence as well.
  2. Escort to hotel for quarantine and someone will watch you (now we start to understand why the bill is 2 grand for 3 days)
  3. You Only get to leave the hotel after 3 days IF you had a negative test at the airport. So it sounds like you’ll quarantine the whole 14 days otherwise
  4. Sounds like the bill for refusal is $750 + $2000 + whatever 11 more days is
