Never heard of that one.Only about 15min for me.Thanks.Here's a great mennonite place.No deep fryer in the kitchen,no preservatives in the bread or baked goods.Awesome soup n sandwich. Bonnie Lou’s Cafe | Homemade Meal, Breakfast, Lunch | Kitchener Waterloo

Needed a break today and caged out with Mrs. noble. Top notch and didn't miss fries. Take out only but sat by the pond across the road and enjoyed real food at McDonald's prices. Pleasant day out. Thanks for the tip.

So I went to Mackies HD today to pick up a couple of things. They stopped me at the door to collect some personal details. I asked what this was for and they replied it was for contact tracing... ya right F'n BS that is. Anyone else doing this anywhere, or are Mackies just being tools like usual.

That's interesting. If that gets used for marketing throw them under the bus. The privacy civil servants love it when people exploit a bad situation for commercial gain.

Well I posted this over on a HD group on Facebook, and someone pointed out this is a OMVIC thing. From other comments not all dealers are doing it. Still feels scummy.

If it is legitimately for contact tracing, writing it on a sheet of paper (with lines above blocked so you can't see who was their before) and shredding that piece of paper in three weeks seems reasonable. Also, limit the data. Your name and either your address or phone number. If public health wants to find you and can't from that, we are all doomed anyway. Nice and safe for the company as they don't need to worry about any breaches in the future.

Every one of my customers at work (industrial plants, automotive industry). Magna has a smartphone app now that you have to fill out before they will let you in, and I'm assuming that they are keeping track of every single person who comes and goes to every plant worldwide. It's been standard practice for years to write your name in the visitor log, but this method makes it a lot more accountable, no more forgetting to write your name in the log on your end, no more "who was this mystery person in the log" from their end.

If this is what it takes to defeat this virus, I'm on board with it.

If you ever get nefarious promotional materials, and this was the only place it could have come from, raise hell.

That's not a bad point. For the Mackie situation, the purpose is contact tracing. Use your real phone number and a fake name. If someone calls I.P. Freeley and wonders if you want to buy something, you have a pretty good case against Mackie. If public health calls, you tell them you left a fake name and give them the proper information. Obviously not a good plan for Magna.

That’s true. In the guidelines put out by OMVIC it is a recommendation to get a name and phone number/email for that purpose.

Me personally I wouldn’t have a problem giving my name and phone number or the email address I use for registering places online. If they wanted much more then that I would probably tell them to keep their parts.

That reminds me. How's the new bike?

@Wingboy and @Scuba Steve agreed with both of you...I have two student parents that work at my local hospital and as of yesterday, there are only a few Covid-19 patients admitted, and it hasn't been overridden with cases this whole time...I hate working from home and being socially distant from my students, their families, my friends and siblings...as I'm sure everyone else is...

i was just saying today in one of my Rider Whatsapp chat groups;

i haven't seen friends or family since February, so my conscious is clear. if i made anyone or their family sick or forbid die i'd never forgive myself. Others can do as they please, they are adults. if we all go on lockdown again then at least i know i did my part to prevent it.

fiancee who i previously mentioned is an RT at a GTA hospital (the ones who run the ventilators and stick their hands down your throat) is thankfully on her last few shifts as she got hired for an admin position within the hospital. i'm kinda relieved she's out of the trenches even though she chose to quit her cushy management job in another field to go back there and help.

Later in the year? Try later in june. Between the park wankers, the dumb protestors and the people getting bored of isolation and returning to normal life we're screwed.
