Speaking of "moistly". You couldn't pay me to even look at the USA from our side of Niagara Falls right now.

Just read an interesting stat this morning. Auto claims in CA have fallen around 70% for the 4 weeks of the lock down saving the insurance companies over a Billion in claims.

I'm with Allstate and they just announced that they are refunding a total of $600 million in auto insurance premiums. It will be interesting to see what the actual amount per person is. With some quick back of the napkin math I would think its around 20-25% of my monthly premium.

Never though I would get anything back from an insurance company... LOL

They aren’t stupid exactly, more just extremely selfish. It’s part of that “freedom at all costs” mentality. It’s only their personal freedom that matters, **** everyone else.

i don't know, insurance companies have such bad reps that i am inclined to think that, yes, they may do something in terms or refunds of premiums, but part of me thinks it would all just be a PR stunt and they will want to recoup those refund over the next few years once things get back to normal.

Same as for oil/gas... yeah we're paying 0.70-0.80 a liter right now, but i have a sneaky feeling we'll be paying close to $2 a liter come end of year....

They have cabin fever and want to get back to work, they've been in lock-down for hours now!

whatever,

I called TD and discussed our changed driving habits (obviously much less since the vehicle isn't being used for work any longer), they reduced my premium by $70.

what a scam.

I am of the same mindset. I think there will be a lot of price hikes and blame on COVID-19...then it will become new norm and prices won't go down, same as usual Canadian taking it up the behind.

The USA is toast.

The only hope is the self-selection bias. But it's not strong enough.

Fauci is the only person in the administration who has a shred of sense. He's right about this: 'It's going to backfire': Fauci says anti-quarantine protesters could prolong shutdown

Keep that border closed.

Did you see the news clip where a reporter wanted to ask Fauci a question and Trump wouldn't let him answer? Bull**** baffles brains.

That would be a non-essential trip. Just sayin'

For insurance and couples with two vehicles....you can always drop one down to fire and theft and leave it parked for the duration. Adding liability back on is just a phone call away when it comes time...

I thought about it, but I don't want my wife driving around crashing my car into stuff :).

I've got the kids during the day while my wife is at work. Not really interested in the uninsured rush to the hospital in the odd chance it is required. Drive my car once a week to keep it from seizing up. Kind of crappy that insurance is full pop for that usage cycle.
