Something cute for the kids on the forum

I don't care what anyone says, the guy has stepped up to the plate.

Doug Ford visits auto part manufacturer, delivers 1000 new respirator masks

Trump is having a busy day.

Latest is he's thinking of freezing funds to the WHO. Not saying they are perfect, but in the middle of a pandemic may not be the best idea.

Has his brain finally exploded?

Updates on QC.

Not just Gatineau has border control. Other crossing locations across the province are turning people away (you can get out but you aren't allowed in). If anyone is trying to head to La Belle Province, try to get some intel first as it may not happen.

Currently at 150 deaths, predict 1300 to 9000 total. Predict peak cases ~ April 18. GG- that is great news if remotely accurate, most of the peak projections I have seen for Ontario are about six weeks out, not 1.5.

People were going after individuals for profiteering, it seems some companies also got in on the game. City of Toronto has a crap ton of defective surgical masks that they are returning for a refund. 62,500 surgical masks that were purchased for more than $200,000. So the crappiest possible masks (both in protection and quality) for double the price of N95 masks. Sounds reasonable. /s Publish the company name that tried to pull off that scam. A$$holes.

See what happens when you listen to experts.
Agreed.

I really had low expectations with how the PCs botched their leadership leading up to the election and I had concerns that Doug Ford's bonafides were more due to his family's and brother's fame.

I have been pleasantly surprised and pleased by his performance in the crisis.

Even before this crisis thebPC government made a couple of missteps which caused considerable public outrage. To their credit they changed direction more than once when public criticism was intense. So... They listen to their voters. I can't argue with that.

The Easter Bunny has been declared an Essential Service.

As silly as that sounds it is nice to have some good news or something to put a smile on your face in these trying times. Quebec premier did the same thing.

Only drag is that how can parents go and snag chocolate bunnies when we should all be staying home?

Now pardon my ignorance as I'm not in manufacturing of large quantities at once...but is it that easy to switch up assembly lines to be producing that quantity of a new product, with the required quality and specific requirements so we don't have an issue of these things falling apart like the City of Toronto purchased ones from China?

Not sure if true. Can't find original source, just conventional media reports.

Ontario testing capacity at 13,000 tests/day. For some reason only a few hundred tests were run yesterday.

If excess testing capacity exists, I don't see how it isn't a great idea to run first responders/medical professionals/TTC drivers and others with high exposure.

"In New Orleans, home to America’s worst per-capita COVID-19 death rate, the mayor said she’d have cancelled Mardi Gras last month if only the federal government had warned her."

Oh my, just a little bit slow on the up take, the whole world warned you dum-dum and you just chose to ignore the signs for economic benefits. Now you get to lead the world in mortality rate :(
