Copy of the M Test (M2X) checklist!

Re: M2X test in Brampton

It gave me that message when I wasn't "qualified" to take the test cause I haven't waited long enough to take the M2Exit.
Did you try searching for dates for other testing centers (not confirming) using aurora or downsview? I booked my test 2 weeks ago.
If there are time slots for the other locations, they probably just ran out of time slots (filled up) and haven't booked an examiners for later dates.
You cannot book online if you do not qualify to take the test on the current date even if you're booking for a later date where at that point you do qualify. It will give you that message.

Re: M2X test in Brampton

Has anyone been able to book a M2X test at the Brampton DriveTest Centre this year?

I've been trying to book an appointment using the online system for a little while and it always tells me that there are no time slots available and to try another centre.

Pick. Up. A. Phone.

Yes for other locations, it offers me a choice of date/time, it's only at the Brampton location.

I guess I will call in tomorrow to see if and when dates will be available at the centre.

Re: M2X test in Brampton

Took my m2 exit last October. Took only 20 mins. Easy peasy. You can google the actual route on YouTube. Good luck.

Re: M2X test in Brampton

I live in Brampton and took the test in Brampton.

Pretty easy not going to lie. Just exaggerate your head movements and you'll be fine.

Re: M2X test in Brampton

I'm not worried at all about the test. I did it 2 years ago in Quebec and have since then put over 40,000 km on my bike.

When I moved to Ontario, they told me I haven't had a full motorcycle license for 24 months (I was at 20 months) so they downgraded me to an GM2.

The problem is only that for practical reasons, I'd rather take the test in Brampton and there doesn't seem to be any slots open at that centre.

Re: M2X test in Brampton

I too tried to book my M2 exit at Brampton, i called MTO's 1-800-Number; they advised me that Brampton's calender wasn't in there system and that I should go in person to book the test; so i drive down to the Drivetest centre and they tell me that bookings will begin the first week of May

So i guess you'll just have to login to their website around the first week of May

Re: M2X test in Brampton

Thanks for the info.

I tried to go there last Saturday and there was such a long waiting line that I gave up as soon as I walked in the door.

Re: M2X test in Brampton

I just booked yesterday for May 1st... it was the earliest date. I chose the 1:20 time slot, there was also one at 2:00

Thanks to everybody who contributed. It helped a lot. Passed the M2X this afternoon in Oshawa.

The route was almost exaxtly the same as someone posted up a few pages before. Middle aged lady was the examiner. Professional attitude, helpful, clearly explained everything. Radio was good, no problem with hearing the instructions.

I have a disco light for brake light (P3 strobe plus wig-wag flasher), was not a problem at all.

Chalked up one mistake that I won't fuss about. Took 20 minutes to complete.

Ride safe!

Just did the M2X at Brampton today, it was overall a great experience. I asked the examiner some questions before we started:

- Can I switch to neutral at a red light? He said he doesn't care, because he can't see which gear i'm in; but it was fine as long as he could see the brake lights

He also told me if the light is changing from Green to Amber or even Amber to Red... that i should keep riding and not to worry about them in the following car.

The earpiece was quite painful in the beginning, but as you ride... you get used to it.

The video here shows the exact same route: http://youtu.be/qpzXej_2-1o I did the route last night, the Clark Blvd to 410 South turn was a little sharp when i practiced, but it was smoothed out during the test.

Before the test began he said that we will not break any of the road rules.

However when we turned left onto Tullamore Rd from Kennedy Rd there were many many posted signs that read "No parking"; the examiner told me to stop and "simulate an emergency stop"

http://goo.gl/maps/j4N49
http://goo.gl/maps/lcf2w
http://goo.gl/maps/MdkH9

So i was hesitant to stop, because i thought this was a "test" where i had to make the decision to stop in a "no-park" area. So i kept riding further down, but then over the radio he repeated to stop and i stopped below the "no-park sign".

I guess because it was a "simulated emergency stop", or maybe in the by-law for the signs it allows for DriveTest exceptions.

We got separated when i turned left from Orchard Dr to Steeles Ave; he told me to wait at the gas station at Kennedy & Steeles http://goo.gl/maps/MbI0d; as they were driving East on Steeles he told me to merge infront of them, but there were vehicles infront of them... but i managed to merge between them using the bus lane as an accelerating lane... which is something i wouldn't normally do; it would have been better if he pulled into the gas station with me, and we left together

Highway was not an issue, coming back in to the drive test, i turned right into the beer distribution centre rather than the drive test http://goo.gl/maps/6ZSAu ; there was a large crane that obstructed me view; over the radio the examiner said to bring him back a beer.

We didn't debrief about the road test at all, he asked for his beer (jokingly) and said i passed and moved to the next guy.

He knocked off four errors

Through Intersection
*No head movment
Expressway Exiting
*Traffic Check - No Head move/blindspot
*Speed: light brake

is the headset they provide you a scala, sena or some random brand?

I have a scala and hoping that mine would be compatible with theirs so i dont have to rip out my unit and install their's.

it's just a basic Motorola FRS walkie-talkie with wired ear-piece you wear. the examiner talks into walkie-talkie, you respond by doing what he says. ez.
