I'll donate guns to the cause. Less scary guns in the country. They should consider that a win.Take them out back of the Parliament Building and line them up against the wall. Ministers go last.

Speaking about guns, well missster speaker. Out of the 47 million or so spent on the buy back program. Bet you can’t guess on how many got bought from the publicI'll donate guns to the cause. Less scary guns in the country. They should consider that a win.

They need to ban illegal drugs next. And the purpose is to reduce deaths.
According to the stats I see, gun homicides are about one per day. Alcohol related deaths are 10 per day and drugs about 20 per day. Priorities????
Oh. How many of those gun homicides are drug based so more realistically a drug death.
Isn't that kind of what illegal means?? Or are you talk safe injection and all that? They need to ban illegal drugs next.

Drug buyback? Fair market value when you turn them in? I've got some narcotics in case I need them but if chief stupid wants to give me $30 a pill to move them from my lockbox to his I'm game. They need to ban illegal drugs next.

Was a bit of a joke they keep banning guns when the ones causing issues are already illegal, so if banning illegal guns helps they can do the same with drugs.Isn't that kind of what illegal means?? Or are you talk safe injection and all that?
Stop pointing out the obvious as they'd have to ban rental vans (Toronto massacre) F-150s (Amqui PQ, London ON) and city buses (Laval PQ).Was a bit of a joke they keep banning guns when the ones causing issues are already illegal, so if banning illegal guns helps they can do the same with drugs.

Yeah I'm sure the 10+ years or whatever BC has had this tax they have completely changed driving and gas usage habits, right?Well, it certainly can't get any wor.........

I won't be surprised if snowmobiles almost disappear purely on economics. They are a very expensive toy when there are only a few hours a year that conditions cooperate. Electric sleds having higher cost and presumably a bigger pain in the ass away from home (can I charge at a random hotel in Timmins?) get hit even harder.Suspect this will be the way for the most part in power sports, the writing is on the wall i would.
Montreal-based electric snowmobile manufacturer Taiga Motors says it is pausing production and temporarily laying off around 70 workers.
The company, which also makes electric watercraft, says its decision is in response to a challenging economy and an exceptionally mild winter.
Taiga released quarterly and annual results today but did not hold a conference call with investors, and a spokesperson said managers would not be available for interviews.
It says its net loss was $72.5 million in 2023, compared to a loss of $59.5 million in 2022.
Snowmobiles are also very power hungry and relatively small not a good use case.I won't be surprised if snowmobiles almost disappear purely on economics. Given the time and money friends spend on their kids race sleds, electric sleds could probably gain a foothold there if regulations allowed and someone made them. Races are short and you have a support trailer close by. Given the limited market size and poor crossover to recreational sled use, I doubt we will see widespread adoption.Snowmobiles are also very power hungry and relatively small not a good use case.

But not higher than BC, which also has a more favourable climate for EV operation.Highest EV market penetration in Canada (26.4%). Quebec is second highest (22.8%). Both provinces have high fuel prices.
Also shorter trips in general ime. I have friends on the island and it's rare to drive for more than 1.5 hours a day with most days being far less. Low speeds, lots of corners and elevation. Great scenario for EV. High gas price is icing on the cake. Fwiw, they have 400A service and no hybrid/ev. A taycan is on the wishlist but still too expensive. But not higher than BC, which also has a more favourable climate for EV operation.
A couple of things also happened over the last few years in the power toy space. First they jacked prices, my 2022 Polaris 570 was $3000 cheaper than the same ‘24 model. Next, they eliminated the entry levels - BILs Spark seadoo 60hp was $7500 out the door in 22’, cheapest is $10k today (for a 90hp).Power sports are taking a hit, for example while BRP is still profitable it missed the last two earnings. Polaris missed by a lot on their last earnings report. Inflation = less money for toys. Lack of snow = less desire for new winter toys. Toy demand during COVID = less desire.market for new toys.
Having said that, electric toys are even more niche. If one wants to "consume less carbon", just don't use or buy the toy, no need to offset with electric other than maybe noise.
In comparison to say a car or heat that are actually needed.... so EV, heat pumps etc. is a legit consideration. Electric toys, niche in a hurting market at best.
