CanCon and Canadian Music

It was a toss-up which one I was going to post ;)

You have a lot of new wave on vinyl? Do you have a lot of the 12" stuff? The Nova Heart track had a long version single too.

Quite a bit, but I don't have the Nova Heart 12" single, unfortunately. Got probably 200 albums, all told, and I wasn't too kind to them. Making tapes and taking them to parties took its toll. I was the poor kid, in my group, but I was also the one who bought the records.

(There was another song on this album, that was based on one of my favourite books at the time; "Nor Crystal Tears")

So the last page has been a trip down memory lane through the post Marsden/Woloshyn coup fluff days.

Still waiting for some new Canadian stuff that isn't mass market suckage. I better grab a chair.

The Wright brothers are still working, although they've slowed down considerably. Bergman's pretty much retired. Rob Theodore does the odd show but hasn't recorded anything lately. Keithley and the boys released an album 2 years ago to much passing of tumbleweeds. Like I said, unless it's demographic driven pop for the radio, there's virtually nothing coming out of this country.

.

Closest thing to disco that I remember David Marsden spinning, was FM (Nash the Slash)

Need to know where to look for decent / new Cdn stuff Stu.
Old friend of mine is still getting it done with some old timers:

Stay tuned for the "experiment".

More on "Georgie":

That's the crux of the situation. Unless you hear of an artist through word of mouth, you're just going to hear marketing machine poo. That said, I'll probably drop in to Rebel's Rock on Saturday night to see Steve Sinnicks.
