according to the 9/11 commission's report. us special forces had bin laden surrounded a matter of weeks before the invasion.. they did not receive permission to take him. instead he was allowed to escape.. with his arrest they couldn't have had their invasion.. if we hadn't helped that invasion/occupation we wouldn't have made ourselves targets... we attacked a Muslim nation unprovoked. remember the Taliban had requested the evidence of bin laden's guilt in order to decide whether to evict him or not.. they were told surrender or be invaded. as the last government of a sovereign nation they had a right and a responsibility to do this. I am not a fan of the Taliban, even the devil deserves his due.. still we went along with the invasion/occupation assistance.. well this attack was bound to happen. many of our MP's who opposed it voiced exactly this. we are making a target of ourselves by not thinking and analysing. instead we are simply following the US.. now we pay the price. I doubt this is the last attempt... and if you read the article.. its saying al-qaeda in Iran repeatedly.. this is simply to provide NATO with an excuse to go in Iran when Israel starts a war..

+1..the way to stop all this is to let our government know we do not support our own acts of war/terrorism.. we don't want our soldiers in any one's cross-hairs.. we do not want to send "ADVISORS"or "TRAINERS" IN ANY CAPACITY TO ANY COUNTRY... we do not want to meddle in the internal affairs of ANY COUNTRY.. if we don't tolerate so called oppression of the afghan people then why do we tolerate the oppression of the Bahrainian people or the Qatari people of the Saudi's from their legitimate democratic hopes... why are we imposing dictators on people.. undermining MASS public protests in their respective nations. why do we arm these dictators and yet talk about democracy?

It's not values its human decency. I won't penalize people for how they are born but clearly you will. If those are your values why qdo you live in a country with gay marriage and women who can work and be educated and freedom of religion.
