Hmmm I am almost tempted to bring my trackbike on a trailer.... just so I have an idea of where it is at.

Loud speakers can take lives. A turd from orilia was too into his hillbilly banjo rockin' cassette to notice my girlfriend honking her CBR when he u-turned right into her.

So you go there and they tell you your exhaust is too loud... and take your plate number and issue you a warning...
are you really gonna go and change your exhaust?
odds are most people won't... the next time they get pulled over they will check to see if you have changed your exhaust...
if it hasn't been changed, then it's just ignorance and the cop will show no leniency because you were already issued a warning...

Those that had their bikes done can you tell me if it was this type of meter and exactly how they measured the sound.
Was it at a 45 degree angle and about 5 inches from the pipe?

I can't say if it was that EXACT meter, but that one ought to do the job.
I CAN say with absolute certainty that it was not 5 inches from the pipe. The prescribed distance in SAE J2825 is 20 inches.
If you are nervous about having the OPP do this test then just do it yourself. If you have an iphone, there is a dB meter application which, although it is not qualified as a "certified instrument" and therefore its measurements won't be admissible in court, it appears to be accurate enough for you to do your own testing and establish whether your bike is well in compliance, well out of compliance, or in a grey area close to the prescribed limits.
45 degree angle at same height as exhaust outlet, 50 cm / 20 inches away from exhaust outlet, away from sound-reflective adjacent vertical surfaces (the roadway itself is allowed), away from extreme levels of background noise (due to the logarithmic nature of sound measurements, if the background noise level is less than 80-ish dB then it won't have any significant influence on your measurement), meter set on "slow response". Measure engine at idle speed (should be less than 92) and at 5000 rpm no load for 3 and 4 cylinder engines (should be less than 100) or 2000 rpm for other number of cylinders (should be less than 96).
I tested all of my bikes previously. All of them passed, including those with aftermarket mufflers, and one bike with an aftermarket muffler was quieter than one of the others with a stock muffler.

Someone had a dose of paranoia in their coffee this morning? They can't warn you for something that isn't illegal yet. Other than the friendly "I'd watch out with those pipes once the law goes into effect. You can get a ticket if you're pulled over in Caledon".

It is supposed to pass at 2000 rpm..... what if you dont have a rpm gauge? My bike is stock, no rpm gauge and the exhaust is wicked loud.
