Cable Lube alternatives?

I've used fluid film the last couple times. Seems to work well, cables weep the stuff from the housing for a long time. Only problem....it kinda smells like poo.

Dishwashing liquid, bar of soap, olive oil, WD40, leftover motul... anything that comes between metal and metal that doesn't grab dust or grit. These are things I've used out of necessity throughout the years.

cables? - used motor oil, it flows better than new oil and doesn't cause cable drag.

chain? - new motor oil used sparingly, it flows less and stays on the chain better than used oil.

i like the idea of an earlier poster - using a syringe

from riceburner: Now I wonder what ppl's first thoughts are when they see "lube"....... lol

lmao....conservatives

hey! are we getting tagged teamed?

More like a gangbang... they're all lined up; Libs just making themselves easy targets atm

Standard chain lube since you'd already have it on your shelf, does the job and a pressurised spray works great with one of these.. Just stick the straw in the hole and squirt away :)
