Cable Lube alternatives?

I use the DuPont Teflon chain saver stuff for cables, chain, and lots of other stuff, since it dries without being sticky so it doesn't collect dust and grit.

That's where I get it. Not sure if it is available elsewhere

The manuals for lots of bikes just say to use oil.

The syringes I use are preloaded with Rotella T6. Seems to work fine.

i want to try the motul chain paste you can brush on, but i have never been able to find in a store

Seems to me like it'd be awfully hard to get that stuff into your cables.

Cables and chain, same thing... Just like Oil and coolant.

Was wondering about that. Have some gear oil from when I had a shafty. Wonder if the hospital will give me some syringes?

Now I wonder what ppl's first thoughts are when they see "lube"....... lol

lol....called up WalMart looking for ChainSaver Lube(was on the US site in error). Woman wanted to transfer to Pharmacy dept. I told her I don't need personal lubricant, I need it for a motorcycle, so she told me to call a different #. Turns out it was to Jiffy Lube.....even though I told her to transfer me to the Auto dept. English isn't understood all that much.

I still use belray chain lube. They lube longer & probably lube every 2k kms

I have the cable lube, but have not used it in years as most cables no longer require lubrication with the great graphite grease the cables are manufactured with.

Was wondering about that, as my bike (newer one, 2014 CBR650F) doesn't even call for lubing the throttle or clutch cables at all in the maintenance schedule.

On the advice of a pro I have used bees wax on both the throttle and clutch cables for over 10 years.
A little bit where the cable enters the hand grip each winter. No problems for a decade.
