Building a backyard workshop in Mississauga

Just looked at Brampton's accessory building bylaws, max 2 allowed. I love the idea of two sheds with a gazebo between. I wonder if a pop-up canopy between is ok since its not permanent.

Sounds like one shed with two large "columns" to me. If the total square footage under the roof complied with they by-law I would probably build it. A solid wall as the rear wall of the gazebo enforces that it is a single structure. You would need to pull a permit though as it would exceed 108 sq ft. Permit helps you when someone inevitable complains.

I was actually thinking about that the other day. Mississauga allows 3 if the lot is over a certain size. So a fixed Gazebo would be the third structure. But if I really wanted to push the zoning by-law, I'd build 3 sheds and use a pop-up between them. Worst case, if some inspector comes by, I can just collapse the pop-up.

Didn’t know 3 are allowed on certain size lots. I’ll have to confirm my lot size as I’d happily add another accessory building.

750 square meters or larger, and not only can you have 3, they can each be 20 square meters in size without minor variance (but still requires building permit).

Thanks @Relax for the link. Current we only have a shed, gazebo and one of those childrens playgrounds with swings and slides.

I didnt see anything in the Mississauga link but Brampton considers swings and slides (children's play equipment) as accessory
