Other day my buddy went down, now ill start by saying I don't ride with him. he rides like a maniac and no insance had the cbr for less then a month and suprise he crashes. He had no insurance but wasn't going 50 over so it didn't get impounded, he wants to just give it to me if I sell it and make a profit give him some money but he doesn't really care at this point I think he just wants the memories out of his garage. He says do what I want
Its a 04 cbr100rr, mostly cosmetic upgrades which are toast now lol, he was going 80+ so fairings, covers , tank, clipons done rks look straight swingarm, good the engine runs strong. he had sliders on everything but still going to get frame checked out obviously.
Options I'm thinking are:
Part out - since it wasn't looked at by an adjuster is the title still clean? Only problem with this is I assume it would take months and months to part out a bike like this?
Project - I'm 22 now, so mayb take a few years and make a cool streetfighter project and ride it when insurance is obtainable
Track it - prep it for the track, I've wanted to do this but prob taking a 1000 to the track as a novice rider prob is a recipe for disaster. But it may also be easy to sell as a track bike if i take the time and invest the money
Sell it as is, see what I can get for it, although it won't be much
or just tell him to sell it him self, not worth all the trouble....
