brand new 2010 VFR... cheap!

Seems like really great bike on paper - why aren't they selling? I see deals on them all the time lately.
Perhaps overpriced to begin with?

Definitely pricey, I think more expensive than the comparable K1300s. Also has a small fuel tank for a touring bike. I think what hurts it most is the looks, it is just not an attractive bike. Though I'm slowly warming up to it

I think the bike looks hideous compared to the previous generation VFR 800.

Honda definitely went more sport-touring than sport-touring this time!
 
VFR1200 is a incredible bike to ride. MSRP is around 17k for the manual, they are available for $14k.
 
I've seen them new for under 17k. They were not selling much when they came out because Honda made a limited number for over 20k stating it to be their "flagship motorcycle" and no one "bought" that b.s. all around the reviews and test I've read on these bikes in motorcycle magazines all say its one hell of a bike. I.M.O. I think that hideous exhaust scares a lot of people away.

Left over models can be had every day all over the USA for under 11 grand.

Too big and heavy to be sporty.
Gas tank too small and ergo too sporty for a touring bike.
It's Honda's answer to a question nobody asked.
My ideal VFR would have been with a 1000cc engine minus the vTec (bring back the gear-driven cams!), up-to-date fully adjustable USD forks, radial ABS brakes, 22-24 l tank and keep the wet weight below 525 lbs.

You make a good point. I wonder if Honda will ever bring the vfr back to its original sport roots

Rode one last year... for a larger bike, it's surprisingly nimble.
Mind you, it's not the peppiest of beasts under the VTEC rpm...
 
Personally I really like the VFR1200. I love the fact that it has the lastest/greatest tech and I love the shaft drive. The factory luggage looks great too. My only complaint with the bike is the 18L fuel tank. Bump that up to 20L+ and I'd give it a serious look for my next bike.

That would be amazing! I would definitely upgrade to that in the future. I'm not a fan of the vtec either, though I live with it :(
 
Overrated IMO...

Maybe but having owned pretty much every Japanese manufacturer I can say it's a noticeable difference. Worth the difference in price? That's up to the purchaser. When I worked for a Suzuki/Yamaha dealership more then 3/4 of our personal bikes were Honda's.

I would happily purchase and ride a GSXR-750 again. Just to let you know i'm not biased to the current bike I own.
