Brampton.. Just why?

Guelph is a nice, scenic mid size town. Much more chill for a Uni town than K/W. Bonus: Royal.
Living in Guelph would make me absolutely bonkers. I worked downtown a few years back. Traffic is awful. I work there now as a Postie. The city is terrible for any sort of traffic movement. There are traffic lights about every 200m or so on the major roadways. The Hanlon Parkway is awful. A bunch of stop lights and 70kmh on what is supposed to be their “highway”.

Yes, the city is pretty enough overall (I’ve seen a large majority of it as a Postie), but just like every other city, there are slums and lousy areas.

K/W (where I live) is much more traffic friendly and it generally moves along pretty well (except the expressway from 4-6pm, in the Lancaster / Bridgeport Road areas). There’s really only 1 “slummy” area in Waterloo.

As for Royal Distributing, it’s all of 15 minutes to Guelph from K/W.

I left Brampton in 2010 and only go there a couple times a year to visit my grandparents. It's changed A LOT in those 14 years and its not uncommon for me to pass a random upside down car in the middle of an intersection.

I try my best to avoid it and most definitely won't ride there anymore.

OP, you rode in India and you're complaining about Brampton? Come on man. I know it's all fun to dump on Brampton but if you're having issues that you're honking 14 times seems like you got your panties in a bunch or you're not visible at all.

Been riding around there few times and never had any problems that I can be like Brampton sucks.

I get what you're saying but in India insurance doesn't cost you an arm and neither you get a hit on your license when you break the rules. And there, road accidents are generally given mob justice on the spot. You get strong armed by a few people and get slapped a few times, one starts driving more responsibly.

Had that been the case here my riding style would be different as well. Just saying.

All I'm asking is for some respect for others on the road.

This was Today: Mississauga and Steeles. Brampton of course !

Been watching Marc Travels ...riding in India is just insane so consider the immigrant source.

When they try it the India way here it causes a bit of a culture clash.

Problem is brampton is starting to filter out to adjoining neighborhoods.

Welcome to Milton West Brampton.

As far as I'm concerned, Toronto proper is more of a "don't drive here" than Brampton, or Markham, or Mississauga, or Milton, or Scarborough.
I agree.

I don't go through the places you mentioned very often but when I have it's been very busy and low-skilled, aggressive, impatient, and/or distracted drivers really stand out.

But those people are also in DT Toronto, and the situation there is made MUCH worse by road closing construction and detours, plus cyclists and pedestrians with similar issues.

My wife and I went to see Buddy Guy at Massey hall a week ago. We briefly debated about driving as opposed to parking at York Mills and taking the subway. I prevailed and we took the subway, and it was a good thing because the construction in the area created absolute chaos.

Nah Toronto downtown is easy to get around, you can barely move, with all the singles lanes, construction and overall congestion. It just takes a lot longer to get anyplace.

how would you know? you never get the downtown tags 🤷‍♂️

There are different levels of "don't drive here" and I'd say Brampton is indeed the worst (as I resident who drives other areas too).
