Living in Guelph would make me absolutely bonkers. I worked downtown a few years back. Traffic is awful. I work there now as a Postie. The city is terrible for any sort of traffic movement. There are traffic lights about every 200m or so on the major roadways. The Hanlon Parkway is awful. A bunch of stop lights and 70kmh on what is supposed to be their “highway”.Guelph is a nice, scenic mid size town. Much more chill for a Uni town than K/W. Bonus: Royal.
Yes, the city is pretty enough overall (I’ve seen a large majority of it as a Postie), but just like every other city, there are slums and lousy areas.
K/W (where I live) is much more traffic friendly and it generally moves along pretty well (except the expressway from 4-6pm, in the Lancaster / Bridgeport Road areas). There’s really only 1 “slummy” area in Waterloo.
As for Royal Distributing, it’s all of 15 minutes to Guelph from K/W.
