When I screw up I like to watch those types of videos. They make me realize I could actually be dumber. No idea why I watched all of that. It was mesmerizing. Jerry Springer on water.

Except with death instead of hair pulling. There are videos of people being knocked out on the bow in waves and falling unconscious into the water (in a busy inlet in big waves with your source boat being full of water and driven by an idiot so they are unable to rescue you).No idea why I watched all of that. I can think of a few events that put me off boats. One was many many years ago when I was a lot younger a buddy thought it would be a great idea to rent a catamaran out on Lake Ontario from Kingston. Sure I said…having zero sailing experience. Kingston is known for reliable sailing conditions so off we went. We then ended up out on the lake when the wind died to zero on a very rare day. I’d also been hit by the boom and was thoroughly mystified by how sails work. Paddling back was just a sad and very unenjoyable experience. When I screw up I like to watch those types of videos. Try spotting a head bobbing around in those waves. How many people on the first boat even knew how many souls were aboard?Except with death instead of hair pulling. Bow riding (especially on pontoon boats) is another popular train wreck where timmy falls off and drunk dad props him. If they're lucky, timmy just loses a limb or two. Lots of videos around.
Too big. The perfect boat provides drinks for six, meals for four and overnight accomodations for two.A friend is selling their boat might be perfect for cruising around the lake.

I talked to one boat owner who was lamenting the cost to add another bedroom to their boat. Going from two bed to three bed is a whole lot more boat. He was OK with the investment as it meant more time spent with his teenage daughters but it was crazy money.Too big. When I had my 26 footer a friend said if I had a bigger boat I could take along another couple. Exactly, I said to myself.
Government would hate that thing. They are already cracking down on a kid in your lap exceeding the legal passenger capacity. It would be so hard to get this certified, I suspect it would be cheaper to buy a normal boat. This is a cool concept
The thing may be legal as it may not be considered a watercraft. I would be shocked if it increased the passenger capacity of your seadoo (and it may reduce it to zero as the attached hull exceeds the load capacity of the seadoo).Never looked into it but are you saying these are not legal in Ontario or Canada?
This year my only boating expenses will be the 30l of fuel my 10' Zodiac and 6.5hp Evinrude will burn this summer. That’s not a bad price and single diesel you could run that all day at 6kts for $100.
Sadly the 60k is the easy part , it’s the 6k per yr dock and winter storage , figure 2k in maintenance and winterizing , 2k extra because it’s 40+ yrs old .
You’ll cover the price of the boat in 6-7 yrs of ownership. And I still do it , so pay not attention here ….

On that note, the Vampire that was part of Waterloo Warbirds is for sale. Price is very reasonable at $160k. Fuel burn is in the ballpark of $2000/hour. Operating/maintenance will very very quickly eclipse the purchase price. The number of boats we deal with abandoned, since dufus bought a 3k boat and found out it’s 4K a year to keep it .
Or worse in sailboats , you bought an old war horse that should be worth 150k but you got It for 20k , and that feeding is based on a 150k warhorse . So a new mainsail is 30k . And they get parked .
I’ll probably have a Viking funeral in one of my boats , and we would live in a much nicer house in Miami if I didn’t race sailboats , but we all pick our fights.

Vintage plane, basically sitting on the engine. What could go wrong? I foresee Ocean Gate sky edition. On that note, the Vampire that was part of Waterloo Warbirds is for sale. As it sits, it is super well maintained. I know one of the pilots that got to fly it often and he is very sad to see it go.Vintage plane, basically sitting on the engine. What could go wrong? I foresee Ocean Gate sky edition.
